It's my dog's 17th birthday so that's nice.

I am clean. I am cool. I am sprawled in MY OWN BED. I have ice cold water. No one is bothering me. No one is in my space. I have the whole evening to read until I fall asleep. Only one thing could make it better. A sleepy cat purring with the force of a thousand earthquakes.

This dog rescue had a slumber party night where volunteers got to sleep with a dog up for adoption!

This is the kind of place I’d donate my time and money to.

A low creek with very clear water you can see the rocks under. The sky is bright blue with mountains of pinetrees on the left of the creek. There are pussywillows that are just starting to open lining the creek and at the bottom of the picture is the big boulder with 2 levels that I am sitting on.

It was a wonderful surprise to look out at my dock this morning and find it full of Black-bellied Whistling Ducks! About 10 of them landed there. When I looked out later, they were gone. I hope they come back!
