Doomerism(?) predictions for the next couple of weeks:
Trump hits Iranian infrastructure to try and take Kharg and possibly Qeshm Islands.
Iran hits back hard with major casualties including hitting or taking down the Burj Khalifa.
Desperate to force negotiations, Trump threatens to or nukes Iran.
Make America Minnesota.
Of course, I've also been of the belief that if he won, he'd end up nuking someone just to say he did it, and to see the big explosion. I just assumed it'd be someplace like LA, not Greenland or Canada.
I think I'm at the "fuck it, as long as it doesn't end up in a nuclear exchange" point in Trump's pursuit of claiming he made a bigger and better USA. I mean yeah I don't want a war, but only in his utopian fantasies does this end up being a positive for him and Republicans.
If your God needs you to save Him, then by the definition of what a god is, what you're saving isn't God.
This movie reeks of Oscar bait and the vain attempt of an actor to be taken as a serious actor when he still has a rider in his contracts that say he can never lose a fight and after he failed in his attempt to take over the DCEU.

Generally speaking if you have to keep repeating that you're something because people aren't buying it, you're not that thing.
MAGA and most Republican politicians at this point aren't "Alpha," "Sigma," or even leaders.

Why, as Christian Democrats, are we so willing to let MAGA Republicans call themselves the Christian party when we're the ones actually trying to follow His teachings through the legislation we support and the help we want to provide?
As Democrats, we also need to continue essentially following the teachings of Jesus, and we need to stop being ashamed to call ourselves Christian if we are.
We fetishize labeling ourselves as being for everyone that instead we come off as not standing for anyone; especially not the median voter.
As Christians, we need to reemphasize the teachings of Jesus: helping and loving others.
No really, that's it. We can't control others, nor are we instructed to.
All we can do is be a light to guide others back, or guide them to Jesus for the first time.

We've become so self-segregated that we're putting an onus of purity on ourselves and our groups to the point where we're pushing away those who doesn't fit into narrow parameters.
It's recursive, unsustainable, and will eventually lead to a group's demise or being subsumed by a fringe replacement.
No, not yet they're not. But they're acting like they are or they're going to.
Or they're just too full of themselves and their own righteousness and think if they force their way on others, we'll come around to agreeing with them, or that there's more that already agree but are afraid to say so.
The crazy/scary part is just how they're legislating and passing down decisions that fit their niche beliefs compared to the overall population as if they think things won't be overturned or the changes they've made won't exploited by the other side.

This' got me super excited for surprise hurricanes this hurricane season.
So there was a decent thunderstorm that spawned a tornado that touched down 4 miles from where we live and even closer to where my wife and I were at the time.
There wasn't even the faintest hint of a warning about it, and we only found out about it after the fact.
