Big on the docket today, we've got this really great piece from @kestrelswift.bsky.social from @animeboston.bsky.social

20 years ago, Yoko Kanno's soundtrack to Cowboy Bebop permanently changed my brain chemistry. Last week, seeing her perform it at #animeboston had the same effect. I also interviewed her as one of the few people at apparently her first press panel ever.
With Uririn, press boar who is definitely not actually Apothecary Diaries creator Hyūganatsu at @animeboston.bsky.social
With Coda, singer and/or songwriter of many JoJo's Bizarre Adventure theme songs at @animeboston.bsky.social
Episode 168
A phenomenal season has ended, but Steel Ball Run has just started and... may continue one day. There's plenty to talk about between SBR, Frieren, Journal with Witch, and Jujutsu Kaisen, plus some talk about what Crunchyroll has done to otaku ecommerce and more news.
My coverage of the second season of #frieren wraps up with the announcement of the third season and a finale that sets up for it while telling some lighter episodic stories one more time. The season was short, but it's a worthy successor to a masterpiece.
And that's a wrap for another season, with @kestrelswift.bsky.social taking it in today!
This week's #frieren is naturally less spectacular than last week's but it's still a beautifully emotional view of nostalgic memories while also exploring the question of what makes an action truly selfless. The most mundane things are the most important.
We're almost to the end and @kestrelswift.bsky.social has things to say about the penultimate episode of the season!
This week's #frieren scores a well-earned A+ for delivering a climax with cinematic splendor that would be the envy of any action series while simultaneously providing satisfying closure to its nuanced character study, and tying it all together naturally.

I still haven't started the season myself, gonna binge eventually (I only just saw S1 late last year) but @kestrelswift.bsky.social is on top of what looks like a fantastic episode that just came out.
Episode 167
We can't have an episode without some #frieren talk, but we also have a spoiler-filled discussion about all of Love Through a Prism and the full spectrum of news from new installments of beloved franchises to deaths and predators. Apologies for the image. Blame Bran.
The Revolte arc of #frieren introduces its titular antagonist, explores Genau's past with him, and gets started on the action-packed encounters. It's back to firing on all cylinders, from subtle character study to spectacular animation with stellar music.
first up on the review board today has @kestrelswift.bsky.social taking a long look at what the Frieren anime show is currently doing.
#frieren returns after a week off with an arc to cover the latter half of this short season. It's a slow burn of build-up as we inch closer to finding the enemy's identity, but it offers quiet, valuable character development before the intensity ramps up.
New on the review board today has @kestrelswift.bsky.social keeping up with the latest Frieren anime episode.
This may not be the strongest episode of #frieren but that's a high bar, so even when it doesn't quite live up to the highs, there's plenty of laughs, beautiful imagery, and generally good times to be had before we get into the upcoming arc of the season.
"Just date already" exclaimed Sein in the first season of #frieren. Well here you go. It's incredibly awkward and all the more adorable for it. Then we reach the Northern Plateau that we spent 11 episodes on an exam arc for, delivering on promised action.
One of a few reviews up today, @kestrelswift.bsky.social takes a look at the latest episode of this anime series.
Episode 166
#frieren is back! There's probably some other stuff airing too. #JujutsuKaisen? #ikoku_anime? #YouandIArePolarOpposites? More? Yeah, it's a good season. Plus news about more #kaguyasamaloveiswar and #DragonBall anime. Yeah, it's a packed episode. Share your thoughts!
If I had a nickel for every time I listened to a podcast episode from a different series today that included @zachlogan.com talking about Mr. Tonegawa: Middle Management Blues, I'd have two nickels-- which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
It's another week of #frieren being silly. In fact, perhaps sillier than ever. There are a lot of laughs to be had, perhaps some tears, and maybe even some progress on romantic elements that have been teased at in the first season. It's simple, but great.

Another episode of #frieren brings another variety of stories, but carries the weight we've come to expect of the series in subtle ways from Frieren's growth to Himmel's influence and some very intriguing quandaries about the nature of time and free will.
And @kestrelswift.bsky.social nabs the noon slot with a new review of the... I think Frieren is a popular anime?
Episode 165
There's a certain returning anime that we'd all love to be talking about right now... but this was recorded before its new season premiered. So let's talk about last year instead! We got a phenomenal #chainsawman movie, new seasons of favorites, and great new series!
Following my 5000-word review of the first season, I am back to review the second season of #FrierenBeyondJourneysEnd as it releases weekly. This first episode sets aside any concerns that the directorial changes would mean the end of the Frieren we know.
And @kestrelswift.bsky.social is back into the good stuff with a look at the start of the 2nd season of the Frieren anime!
