I have not been keeping up with the Sonic community so i'm not sure how hot or cold this take is. But it is the take that I have.

Sonic Generations is also pretty weak narratively- in comparison to Shadow Generations where it is far more potent in that area as it is a personal story revolving Shadow and his connection to Black Doom.
Though I love Sonic Generations and it excels at being this celebration of Sonic's history, I found a lot of the bosses and levels to be so lackluster and dull in comparison to Shadow Generations where everything is so refined and clean.
And ngl, I do prefer Shadow Generations over the main Sonic Generations 1000% and this is coming from someone that has played Sonic Generations 4 times now (3 when it was out on the PS3 and again with this remaster)
Love
My Goat is NOT some one-note edgelord character and I appreciate this game not shying away from showing more of his vulnerable side- such as seeing him smile warmly at Maria and also shedding a tear after their departure (which I don't have a SS of)
I adore Shadow's arc in this game where despite his power growing immensely to the point where he starts to look like Doom & becoming more aggressive, he still fulfills Maria's wishes and embark on his own path, proving that he is NOT like Doom or any of the other bosses.
if you interpret that Shadow was modeled after the Sonic based on the mural from SA then it only amplifies this, there is also ofc Mephiles who also created in a lab like shadow & literally takes after his form, and then there's Devil Doom- Shadow's creator.
As for the selected bosses, I loved how they were all PERSONALLY tied to Shadow in some capacity & played on his backstory. With Biolizard, they were both experiments- made to be the Ultimate Lifeform, with Metal Sonic/Overlord they are both literal 'fake' hedgehogs &
which further enhanced my experience with the game, making it more traverse as you surf over the water and fly around with the wings.
Also a lot of these powers allow for more opportunities to explore different parts and routes of a level and to finish it even quicker.
So I recently finished playing Shadow Generations and I loved it. So much of the gameplay and level design impressed me, feeling like a much more refined Frontiers/Forces. I also loved the inclusion of the Chaos Control/Doom Power mechanics
Sigh
Heh that’s the plan
WHAT you’ve played SMT4???
Investing in my 3Ds xL again! I bought some a new Stylus, some chargers, and two new games (Bravely: Default & Bravely Second: End Layer) - which I’ll be getting to after Metaphor. Very excited! I haven’t touched my 3Ds since 2016ish so it’s been a bit!
Hell yeah
Camille has relations to Vi, Cait, Jinx, Ekko etc. The Jayce/Viktor conflict should’ve been saved for Season 3, would’ve allowed everything to have more breathing room
The more I look into Camille’s character from LOL, the more I realize she should’ve been the main antagonist of season 2 of arcane, would’ve also allow the series to focus more on the class / oppression related themes and to also focus more on Vi&Cait (who were also undeveloped in season 2) because
Superman. Because there's a beautiful nobility to a perpetual stranger who will never truly belong but will do everything in his power to make the world a little more kind and a little more resilient against Lies, Injustice, Corruption, and Oppression.
He believes in us more than we believe in him.
Heh
I know a lot of people are nervous about Dan Slott writing Superman, but I say we should give him a chance. His Silver surfer was pretty good and if he taps into that weird cosmic sci-fi DoctorWho typa feel with his Superman, then it may be good
Yep
Goated thread. I enjoyed reading this
Out of the versions of Superman the general audience seem to know, the Starman, ultimate symbol of hope is infinitely better than the injustice “one bad day from being a fascist” version. Both reduce the character so much though
Superman might be the most complex and layered character in comics. So saying he’s “just a nice farm boy who does the right thing” takes away from all the other interesting things he is (son of two worlds and neither, immigrant, god, man, angsty, immortal, etc)
Would be extremely tragic but id be down 100%
“The doctor cries too much” is a common criticism I’ve seen of Ncuti as the Fifteenth Doctor. You’d be right in saying that the doctor is far more emotional than his previous incarnations but (besides the fact that “too much” here is completely arbitrary) —
#doctorwho #whosky #thedoctor
He’s such a conniving little devil in this comic
