This is one thing the US got right, because of the cute little surprised faces.

I didn’t comment on how flawed it is. And the loss of liberal values can result from too much democracy, meaning the tyranny of the majority and all that.

Seems perhaps not to me.

I think today must be Tuesdayyyyy.

I was in line for the new Rav4 but dropped it because I couldn't stand the screen and all the rolling computer garbage in my Gen5 Prius. Went backwards to an older car instead.

Someday I might consider an EV if someone makes one that is just that and not loaded down with bullshit.

This must be Progressive Gatekeeping Day.

It's um, cantaloupe.

You can literally see it in his face. There is something to that expression. They all have it. It's the gaze of a calculating reptile.

In my experience of working with some very wealthy self-made businessmen, you don't need to be particularly intelligent or educated to become wealthy. In fact, overthinking is a disadvantage. What you need is an emotionless fixation on making money above all other considerations. No empathy.

Fewer idiots? I think not.

The U.S. has, over the years, become the most democratic system of major countries, resulting in a vulnerability to populism. We see the result of that now.

But fewer? Brexit? Alberta? Morons live everywhere.

Where do you live? Shopping for places with fewer idiots.

My point is that "evil" is a construct of western civilization and religion, for the reasons I listed above.

That would not imply that some are not disadvantaged or sick. Quite the opposite: we as a society should do the hard work of helping all, regardless of personal issues.

Sorry about your pain. I get it.

I may have equated what they said with my attitudes instead of perceiving a different interpretation that they intended.

I can't, unfortunately.

Looks like some of this post is zapped and now I can't re-read it. How do you equate this idea to ableism?

Genuinely curious.

I read it quite the opposite. Our conception of evil is of someone who chooses to do wrong, intentionally, as if we are all spirits occupying meat suits, the spirits having the final say, and therefore deserving the blame. In reality, we are the meat suits. Ted Bundy had an abnormal brain. Evil?

Meatghost is correct here, folks, unless you believe in punishment instead of rehabilitation and other medieval tortures as currently practiced by "1st World" (Abrahamic) countries. It's about mind-body duality and the existence of a soul than can sin (or some nonsense like that).

I figured they were arresting people for discussing demand side now.

1972 Citroen SM

1972 Citroen SM

Ah, it was a 1972 Citroen SM, from the episode "Identity Crisis."

Gorgeous design.

They recognize one another, they run in packs, and they use their numbers to victimize.

Authoritarian personalities are predators, which is what people are unless they have the sense to transcend their animal nature and embrace empathy.

They are the Biblical anti-Christ, evil incarnate.

I can't quite place this one, but I do remember that was some sort of car I admired.

"Toto, it's called a motor race." That was a dead giveaway.

I personally dislike Toto/Merc, though I did favor Lewis at McLaren, and I disliked Red Bull. It was obvious to me that Lewis should have had the win.

It was the moment F1 was obviously NASCARized with phony drama.

About 70 million people in the U.S. and Canada do not have smart phones, and furthermore why should anyone be required to pay for a device that allows them to access goods and services?

It is in effect a poll tax, inherently discriminatory. Pay your rent or you are not part of this society.

NO.

Re: "Infotainment Systems" in cars:

Shut the absolute fuck up. Seriously.

Dig a hole and make a permanent home in it.

You are Satan's spawn.

Sort of infuriating, isn't it?

And someone is going to have to convince me that my 2014 gas powered car is not more environmentally sound than wasting the resources to have a new car built, shipped, and marketed.
