it is devastating to notice how few benches there are in the world and how some benches have been replaced by weird "leaning" things. the world is incredibly cruel to disabled, elderly, poor, pregnant, tired, homeless, and all people. there should be benches fucking everywhere for everyone
it gives me no pleasure to say this—i don’t find masking as much as i must to be particularly thrilling—but our reality is stark. you cannot Act As If covid is gone and then be shocked when a nefarious actor makes the same claim. why wouldn’t they? your complacency has allowed it.
if you find yourself appalled that RFK Jr is able to make this claim but you don’t wear a mask in, at the very least, public indoor spaces, you are acting in precisely the way that allows him to say that covid is gone.

On the one hand, i do feel like the technology involved in getting robot bipedal running to the point where it completed a marathon is a cool research science advancement, but otoh, the comparisons to humans running as if the bot somehow accomplished the race is gross and weird and scary
Thread! This is one of many reasons I'm resisting teaching LLMs in school. My job isn't to teach kids how to use a specific product, it's to teach them transferable research and critical thinking skills.
