Drawing of an anthro border collie with a gleeful expression pointing their fingers to their head. There's a vibrant pink splatter in the background.

singing "a dreaded sunny day, so i meet you at the cemetery gates" over and over in my mind

Honestly if nessarose was spinning her chair while singing this just as Dorothy's house fell on her would improve Wicked For Good a hundredfold.
this is the album cover of all time
i think as you read the others you'll retroactively extract more value from having read this one, sometimes things are interesting in how bad the are and why
but also like, over the first few stories Tintin will struggle between its intended purpose as catholic propaganda and Hergé wanting to make a good adventure comic so it's interesting to compare how the main themes of the first few comics change until it finds itself by the time of The Blue Lotus
the first tintin is worth it for the historical value, the character started in the children's supplement of a catholic newspaper so it was literally just propaganda for kids, eventually it will become it's own thing and Hergé will learn how to make good comics
this is how i imagine @reedopost.bsky.social felt watching me play the final stage of MMZ4
você precisa dele
he's a really interesting character, i wish he had showed up on a previous story before this one
but the one that really fascinates me in fable of venice is hipazia
there's a few wordless sequences in the first story, a ballad of the salty sea, but i think in the short story era pratt was more pressed for space and there's a tendency to have more words (although i remember a few wordless sequences from the top of my head)
this thing shaped my sense of humor forever
yuuuuup i told you, Hugo Pratt's style got much different with time, i like his later stuff a lot, the lines are simple and somewhat imperfect in ways i really enjoy
