Nolan Jones has an extra base hit in his second tour as a Guardian before Tyler Freeman takes an at-bat for the Rockies

Let's say that a certain Yankees player hits 5 home runs today, but he gets 7 at bats to do it and the fifth home run comes off of a backup catcher. How would we feel about this?
The word "cleanup" here is superfluous
I only just learned that Lukes is pronounced like "lucas" and I'm really bothered by that.
Tyler Kinley was a way better pitcher way back when he was related to President William McKinley, but then
@thesuziehunter.bsky.social ruined him ☹️
Yep, that one, and a 7-inning 8K shutout vs San Diego on April 24, 2018
Now that he's out of the game and it's official: in his 201 career games started, only *2* were better by game score than today's effort. Good stuff.
By measure of Game Score, Kyle Freeland has put together his best start since July of *2022.*
I might be a Kyle Freeland Guy again.
Yao Ming approves
Through 2 innings Ryan Pepiot has only had to throw 19 pitches.
The Rockies have swung at all but 4 of those pitches.
Maybe the upside this season is that games should go really fast.
Rockies debuting their "You're the Play by Play Man!" feature, I dig it
If he makes at least 7 starts and puts up at least 1.2 bWAR this season, Kyle Freeland will be the Rockies' all-time leader in those categories. And I've got mixed feelings about that.

The best Rockies pieces you can read are the ones written by Connor, because he doesn't feel the need to put lipstick on a pig. Good stuff.
Also: remember how good life was back when everyone was on Twitter & it wasn't a mess and Rockies Twitter was a utopian paradise? Man, I wish we could go back.
I hope they at least called on Juan Brito before they settled for Freeman
I would like Juan Brito back, please.
Sorry to interrupt but it's "Take a Look Around" by Limp Bizkit for Mission: Impossible 2
I've told Jen that if she ever has any doubt if I'm the one texting her, just ask for a heart. If it isn't purple, it isn't me.
But now I guess I've just blown that extra security. 💜
What are the ignoble gases?
You know what never mind
All I see there is Trevor Siemian starting for the Denver Broncos for 8 consecutive seasons (using multiple aliases)
The next Germán Márquez has not looked anything like the first Germán Márquez.
This is precisely what I was trying to say and I appreciate you better saying it.
Thank you. This is what I'm trying to say.
When I was a kid in school, I was exposed to songs I wouldn't have normally listened to thanks to turning on the radio, riding the bus, hanging out with friends, being on the football team, etc. This is still somewhat true, but now we've all got ear buds in
And here's the thing: a whole bunch of people will absolutely LOVE it and be clappin' from the nosebleeds. And a whole bunch of people will despise it.
Maybe this has always been the case, I dunno.
Which, honestly, thank goodness

it could just be that I'm a rural white middle-aged man and I'm out of touch with "American consciousness." This is true to some extent anyway.
The "headliner acts" of before just don't exist on a transcendent scale anymore.
Instead, the halftime show is *necessarily* going to alienate a large American demographic. There is no "new" "Country Roads." Nothing has replaced it. We're too fragmented. Radio is dead.
My theory:
Just as the internet has made politics/social interaction into an insular echo chamber, it's done the same for music. It's possible to *never* have heard an artist with 80+ million monthly listeners. We've voluntarily pigeon-holed ourselves into our own media ghettos, music included.
On Super Bowl halftime shows:
1) To folks saying "I don't know/like this music": who would you recommend? Does modern American music have *that artist* anymore?
2) Rocket commercial singing of "Country Roads" made me think: are there any modern songs in collective American consciousness like that?
