I was a free man in Paris
I felt unfettered and alive
No one calling me up for favors
No one's future to decide
I got back there tomorrow
But for the work I've taken on...
Joni Mitchell
Those folks use profanity like punctuation... Mystifying how they're #2. In fact, they're probably cursing about being on this list as we speak. 🤷♂️

I mean, of course that’s what happening. It’s been clear the whole time
Music is a HUGE part of me. However, having moved 4 times in 10 years (twice cross country) I have become a minimalist. I still own instruments I play, but the recorded music in physical form is all gone. I feel 1000 lbs lighter. I loved my albums, 8 tracks, cassettes and CDs but I don't miss them.
Alas... You're probably right.
Turns out I'm remarkably ill-suited for a great many things. 😛
I never say anything. This time I did. "Excuse me, sir. As you can see other cars are waiting to use the pumps. Would you mind pulling your car into one of the store parking spots?" He did, but he wasn't happy about it. No apology, no recognition he was being oblivious... Oy. 😡
I am one of the more chill individuals you're likely to meet and not much gets under my skin.
But this does:
Gas station is packed. All the pumps are occupied, I queue up behind a car pumping gas to wait my turn. They finish pumping AND THEN WALK INSIDE WITHOUT MOVING THEIR CAR!! WHAT?!? 😳
I played a gig last night.
Music is such a gift. I'd be lost without it... Hell, I'd probably be dead without it. . . .
Break a leg, JC!
I see I've come to the right place. 😎
@confusedraptor.bsky.social clearly, this cannot stand.
The Pointer Sisters doing "He's the Greatest Dancer." Backed by Chic band members Niles Rodgers (guitar), legendary bassist Bernard Edwards and future Power Station drummer Tony Thompson of this doesn't get your toes tapping there's probably no hope for you. 😛

I don't mind paying taxes that go to good use, but paying when he's not paying is infuriating.
Such a great song and how fantastic that you heard it live unexpectedly - and with your personal history with that song. I love that story! ❤️
My Substack post this week is mainly about Napoleon and his strike north to Charleroi, the beginning of a short campaign that was to end at Waterloo.
Next week I’ll be looking at what happened after Charleroi.
Join the campaign now.

What a sad realization that we actually elected Uncle Walter. 😕
An absolutely banging song from Ben Folds Five. Robert Sledge's fuzz bass solo is perfect.

That, sir, is very sensible.
As I swivel my neck in every conceivable direction and check multiple mirrors, I forget I have a backup camera... 🤪
Job alert!
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is hiring a tenure-track digital archivist. I'm on the search committee and happy to answer questions. Please share widely!
This is a great collection, full of hidden gems, in an academic library committed to students.

I'm still here!... Just less often.
Sometimes TACO Tuesday is a good thing, and sometimes it's also a massive market manipulation.
Taco Tuesday, everyone! 😛
More people need to know this awesome song exists. The "Pretty Golden Hair" is from Al Stewart's first album in 1967, Bedsitter Images. It's got some trippy music and tells a great story of one man's descent into prostitution.

To my Republican friends: how far are you going to let this go before invoking the 25th Amendment?
Line forms to the right.
