So much brown, odds are he’s an Allen’s but Spring migration sometimes sends a Rufous our way. Maybe @crawlieswithcri.bsky.social has a thought?

Honestly more of us should be ready to marry Io. I mean, just look:

Survived Doctors appointment this morning. And only one value of my bloodwork was "very concerning", although I dont share that opinion, its all fine, doctors can be wrong.
An old building in a field out in the country. There are two large bare trees on the right and smaller ones on the left. There are stacks of long pipes on each side.

This image features the tiny moon S/2025 U1 (circled) and 13 of the 28 other known moons orbiting the planet Uranus. Due to the drastic differences in brightness levels, the image is a composite of three different treatments of the data, showing details about the planetary atmosphere, the surrounding rings and the orbiting moons. The Uranian system, appearing in shades of very light turquoise for the planet's globe and light turquoise for the rings, stands out sharply against the black background of the image.

Update March 2026: In August 2025, the discovery of a faint new moon around #Uranus, was announced.
That pushed the known count of its moons to 29.

Happy vernal equinox! You may know this as one of 2 dates when the day and night are roughly equal length, or as the beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere and fall in the southern.
But to astronomers, the vernal equinox has an additional fun significance... 🧪🔭 (1/8)
It has been prophesied

Nowruz Mubarak! My this year be one of healing, growing, and achieving.
We enter spring with a moment of balance. 🌱🌍
Today the Sun crosses Earth’s equator, bringing day and night into almost equal measure worldwide: longer days ahead in the Northern Hemisphere, while autumn begins in the Southern Hemisphere.

I just discovered that my favourite poem of all time was written by someone I know about me. I dont know how this slipped past me for years. The poem rattled in my head for so long, like the words knew me.
And apparently they did. Its a weird feeling.
"If you had high hopes, how would you know how high they were? And did you know that narrow escapes come in all different widths? Would you travel the whole wide world without ever knowing how wide it was?”
A vibrant starfeild containing the star mu cephei and its background stars
This is Mu Cephei, its the star I adopted as my handle nearly 10 years ago. Known for its garnet colour, its always had my heart in some way. But I had never seen it like this until I took this image.
This was taken with the yorku planewave CDK-1000 1 meter diameter telescope a few years ago.

Today for the first time in years I stepped back into the yorku observatory. Alot of my ups and downs of life have occured there. Alot of healing took place in that control room during late nights. I instantly remembered all the controls and procedures. A bittersweet return home.
Once my sun Forever my moon You melted my wings Not a moment too soon Once my sun When I was someone Now my moon That I lay in ruin
Sometimes you fall out of the tree of life and hit every branch on the way down
Im not saying LLMs are bad for mental health or whatever, but one just tried to teach me about how to lie to people to avoid hospitalization. Not very comfortable with LLMs being a thing
Crashing over. Things are going to be better from here on out. Lots of changes.
Honestly this, love hurts more than a throat punch
How dare you fly me so close to the sun knowing my wings will melt
