"For all kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations." -Psalm 22:28

It's important for me to remember, today of all days, that my final King is not someone elected or put in power, but my King is the one who made the world and rules over the nations! LORD COME SOON!

Maybe it's because I'm a small developer and operate in the free tiers of everything, but @vercel.com is nothing short of magical. Comparing their service with GitHub pages or netlify is just silly in my experience

Got a call back from a local business owner who wants me to build her business a landing page. Freelancing can be as easy as making a few cold calls! Give it a shot once and a while (or don't - but that leaves more clients for ME ๐Ÿคซ).

SO EXCITED!

I had toyed around with an idea of learning about Websockets by building a real-time data visualizer for people voting where to go eat. I will add SSE's to my learning list!

Homepage | GSAP GSAP is an industry standard JavaScript animation library from GreenSock that lets you craft high-performance animations that work in every major browser.

About to dedicate some time to learning GSAP - anyone have any tips before I hop in? I'm really excited but I'm not sure how people on the ground floor feel about it. Hot takes are welcome.

Thanks for your thoughts and engaging! That's a solid trade-off to consider. I would love to look into Websockets more. I haven't had a chance to build anything with them, but they are a fascinating technology to me (coming from standard CRUD HTTP development).

I hadn't heard of their affiliate link controversy - thanks for the info! My understanding is that the full page ads are opt-out (which I have), so that's an important note. uBlock is my go to everywhere else though - solid take Zerk thank you.

The best decision I made last year was leaving Chrome - GOOD LUCK SOLDIER! I landed with Brave myself. Built-in ad blocker! And I get to keep chrome dev tools. Thanks for sharing.

I hope you do! It was a beneficial read for me. There's a healthy dose of "performance is subjective according to your needs". No architecture ultimatums from what I read. Mostly practical tips on how to avoid waterfalls as much as it makes sense. Let me know your thoughts if/when you read it!

@adevnadia.bsky.social I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading this article. It brings clarity to a topic that is pretty cloudy for a beginner like me. I'm using your takeaways in my project I'm starting tomorrow morning. You're the best!

Understanding single page apps & client-side routing Let's get some clarity on what single page apps are, how they work, and where they differ from server-side routing.

@bholmes.dev Thanks for the well-written blog post on SPA's vs Client Side Routing. Really helped me understand the trade-offs and even the benefits of the good-old-fashioned server side routing. Thanks!

If you haven't, check it out if you've got the time!
