Robbie Dickson, president of Rainbow Tobacco in Kahnawà:ke, is suing the Quebec government for $8.1 million over their repeated seizures of his products and vehicles.
He says his lawsuit is about more than money, it's about Mohawk sovereignty.
Mohawk tobacco manufacturing creates a lot of employment. For instance, Wendy Deer has been working in the industry since 2003. She says the money is good, she gets paid time off, and best of all, her commute is short.

Ervin Bighetty was mayor for the town of Leaf Rapids, MB before council was dissolved due to a lack of members.
The Manitoba government appointed a third party manager to take over, leaving the town without a mayor and council for the last six years.
Dennis Anderson has been in Leaf Rapids, MB since it was built for the Ruttan Mine in the 1970s.
He saw the town at its peak and watched it struggle when the mine shut down, causing declines in population and in basic services along the way.
