Bought some grass seed/topsoil yesterday. Without flagging a 'temp fuel surcharge' of 5.8% was applied. Mmmmm.

As a chap of a certain age the highs and lows of football are no surprise. Back in August the pundits were lauding Liverpool to win the league again. That dream is long over. The news that Andy Robertson is leaving is painful. Passionate, skilled, driven, funny and the long time 'glue' of the team.

Sad. Yesterday Terry Cox of Pentangle and now Chip Taylor. He made a host of excellent recordings.

Country Joe McDonald obituary US singer and songwriter best known for his 1969 Woodstock performance of his anti-war I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-to-Die Rag

www.theguardian.com/music/2026/m... 'Electric music for the mind and body' from 1967 is a fabulous record (and one I still enjoy). The cover is also neat!

They have just launched their house beer, The Harrington Arms, a refreshing Hazy Session IPA. Alongside this, you can enjoy Green Mountain Alcohol Free, plus a rotating Thornbridge cask line, featuring our Year of Beer brews.

The Atom Heart Mother ‘suite’ is magnificent. I remember them playing it at one of the free Hyde Park concerts.

Lots of well meaning noise in the media (hello BBC) about high levels of glycerol in slushies. Surprising then, that even in the publication that's triggered this, glycerol is not quantified in slushies. Mmmmm.

Astonished to see that in 2025 the Civil Service is toying with 'radical changes' with the introduction of performance management. This was the norm in my time at Bass Brewers (1982-2006).
