I tell people this about writing all the time.

Ideas are the easy part. Turning the idea into a story people will enjoy reading - that's what's difficult.

You can be a good person & still have a past that would ruin your reputation at the wrong dinner table. Life is weird like that. Sometimes your worst years are what make you better later. And sometimes the reason you're so careful now is because you remember the damage you were capable of. That's the uncomfortable origin story of a lot of good people. Turns out shame can grow a conscience if you let it.

Likes: Roasted Plum Fish, Soft things, A Good Bath, Husband, His Sworn Brothers, Uncle Jiang, Auntie Han. Bai Que, and and and... Dislikes: Unbound Cavern, Monks, Liars. Dirty Laundry. Hobbies: Cooking, Pipa Playing, Reading, Flower Viewing. Fun Facts: - Contrary to popular belief, he *does* eat fish. He specialises in cooking fish dishes. - A bit forgetful and airheaded sometimes, is otherwise capable of getting things done. - Adores cats. Months later after The Burning, Jiang Wanglan tries to pass himself off as a normal human while he wanders through the Jianghu. This usually works (provided that others don't look too closely under his hat).

Sorry to vent on main but I'm just so sick of being a grown-ass adult online who can't openly enjoy talking about or drawing sex stuff even in completely adult spaces where all minors are completely banned just because everyone has gotta be such fascist controlling fucking babies about it

i care abt kids big time but increasingly of the feeling that kids safety online is a parenting and childs support network problem and not my issue as its so often a trojan horse for regressive ideas

it drives you insane how much erosion of freedom is justified by concern for kids when the people who actually hurt them will never face consequences

Two posts from Tumblr user awakefor48hours "You should create for yourself" and "it's okay to feel discouraged when creating your own original projects if no one interacts with them" are two sentences that should be able to co-exist with each other On the one hand, you should kill that capitalist in your head that tells you to make art only for the enjoyment of other people. On the other hand, it's totally fine to be disappointed that you spent hours or even days on something that only got 4 notes. You can feel both ways.

Noticed recently that a lot of people aren't using (or don't know they can use) @pronouns.diy to add a label with their pronouns to their name!! It shows up as small text under your display name both on your profile and on your posts
