Would be interested to hear what qualifications a teacher or a librarian, for example would need then. Is she suggesting that both can be done with just GCSEs or smth? Or that they should get a maths degree instead? Or just not needed roles full stop?

We are also back to the “no deal” fantasy too. Apparently the TCA can just be binned to get around ECHR withdrawal issues.not a trip down memory lane I really wanted tbh.
Their self belief in the face of relentless evidence against them is mind bending. If they could somehow sanitise their message and shape it into something teachable, the England cricket team amongst others could learn from their unshakeable conviction.
I’d be more interested to see Labour’s internal polling on this actually. They have concluded there is an electoral benefit but I agree with Mr Shrimsley that the standard Brexiter hysterics mean they could’ve got away with more.
The whole thing’s a load of old pollocks tbh.
Do you think he is mixing up the place “China” with the stuff your dinner plates are made from? Wouldn’t this explain almost everything?
Unfortunately there is also the same old thinly (and not so thinly) veiled racism from the people who have neither read nor understood the agreement’s provisions on immigration, visas, visa cap etc.
In making these mildly supportive statements, I think you have done enough to have avoided the twin offences of “talking Britain down” and being part of the dreaded “London elite”. Job done!
Do they float?
Not TrussSocial. Lett-er. The last bit being an homage to Twitter, the first part shd be obvious.
Tbf, it’s rare to hear a populist discussing trade offs at all. It feels like a forwards step, even tho it isn’t.
Calling Zelensky a “Dictator” must be where the line is drawn.
It is my sincere hope that the whole political spectrum in the United Kingdom will speak with one voice in opposition to Trump’s lies.
Far too elegantly written a post. We’re discussing Trump here; the word ‘tariff’ should be written ‘TARIFF!!!!!’, even if nothing else is capitalised randomly.
Up to a point, yes. But you need to add: 7. I am not hungry because I have already killed and eaten what I wanted outside. That is often the case here.
It is the same magical thinking which drove Brexit; British Exceptionalism. It is beyond dispiriting that nearly 9 years after that concept was tried and found seriously wanting, a Labour government of all things still hopes to revive it. See ‘bonfire of red tape’ for further similar BS.
Is it a bit like with fairies; in that if you say you don’t believe in Brexit, a little part of it dies every time? Perhaps that’s the problem?
I genuinely don’t understand why. They either are worried about losing the ‘socially conservative’ part of their vote, or they are seriously concerned about what reopening debate would unleash. In both cases, it is an unsustainable position as it is running scared of reality. Madness it is.
Can someone please point me to where membership of EUSM means a member state ‘cannot “do” AI’? This is gibberish, of the sort you used to get from Liam Fox, David Davis and other ‘ardent’ Brexiters. Whatever that means.
In fact, Brighton has two piers! One of them is/was Grade 1 listed (the same status given to things like Parliament and Buckingham Palace). But it burnt down and has been left to fall into the sea. It’s a sad story, but not uncommon in 80s. Nearly happened to St Pancras station too, unbelievably.
Almost, but not quite! Eastbourne lies slightly to the east of Brighton. It’s where Beachy Head is. It’s also where pre Wimbledon tennis is played. Most of the sea front is owned by the Duke of Devonshire and retail is banned, no shops pubs etc. so a lot more genteel than its noisy neighbour!
Eastbourne, UK. Not quite as dramatic, but it is winter still!!
Turtles. And Beanos Records. Both of those were rarely bettered anywhere. Croydon hasn’t ever had the best press, but those two shops were brilliant and worth anyone’s time.
Indeed so. And don’t forget that they depend upon a definition of human and humanity. The Solarians narrowed that significantly, if you recall!
That was the zeroth law, wasn’t it??
I hope for the best for them. It is perhaps wise to wait until a way can be found to nullify the inevitable Russian interference or the general lying which plagued Britain’s ill feted referendum.
Watch the totally undeserved posthumous rehabilitation take shape over the next few days/ weeks.
Yeah. But vibes. Or ‘lived experience’ and ‘very real concerns’. Or something.
Feels like there’s an opening for Count Binface to stand for election there as well. I’m sure they’ll waive the citizenship criteria for him.
Hathersham Lane looking west towards Burstow Stream and Mole. I had to go this way as the road was flooded to the east. Westvale was as badly flooded as I’ve seen. Couldn’t face any more photos as it was a grim run session and I was getting hosed by a freezing monsoon.
