As you may know, this photo shows the inside of the Hikeshi Hanten (firefighter's jacket). During the Edo period, due to the prohibition of luxury goods, it was considered stylish to have elaborate linings.
This is called Daimyou-okugata-kaji-shouzoku (Daimyo's Wife's Fire Attire). It was worn by the wives of daimyo (feudal lords) during fires and was part of their dowry.
The family crest on the one shown to me is a circle with a Tosa oak leaf inside, so it belongs to the Yamanouchi family.

Two large totems are connected by a single central piece. Many carved images are painted and decorate each totem to make it unique. This particular totem is in a parking lot next to the water.
