The sun has risen over Invest #97S which is looking quite healthy, with lots of convection sustaining over an organizing center. Models are hinting that it could become a TC within the next 2 days, and ensembles are showing it could threaten #Australia

Surging waves inundating our hotel during the approach of typhoon Fung-Wong recently. Significant storm surge damage occured up and down the coast of Aurora Province, Philippines and particularly our location in Dinadaiwan. Nasty storm 🌀

Been a little quiet in terms of #storms across the NW #TopEnd over the past week or so, though we did see a weakish shelf cloud tracking in over the #Darwin area late this afternoon.

A transition to westerly flow in the coming days may promote an increase in coastal storm activity 🌩️

Given a fairly loose CAP, we're seeing thunderstorms get up quite early today around #Darwin. This guy over near Shoal Bay was slinging a bunch of bolts around the joint at 11am!
