I’m not anti-psych meds. I’ve been on 3 different meds over the years for OCD and they massively improved my life. But there are definitely side effects and risks do think people should be aware of.
I consider myself lucky meds have been good to me. Others I know have had awful experiences.
I despise Peterson and pretty much the only time I ever reference him is to mock him (especially the “there are cathedrals everywhere“ thing), but this doesn’t seem particularly unhinged to me, it just kinda sucks. Akithisia is a known risk with certain psych meds and presentation may be delayed.
Akithisia is definitely associated with certain psych meds. Delayed onset akithisia is known as “tardive akithisia,” and may be acute or chronic.

The development of the same technology we use for treatment was correlated with our illness in the first place.
This is in no way a blanket endorsement or condemnation of any specific tech, or technology in general, but a nudge to consider the impact of the systems in which you already participate.
This isn’t to say there are no benefits to it, or aspects of it. But even the quality of life & medical advancements are not simply free gifts. Certain chronic illnesses (like that which my son and I both have) are strongly correlated with accelerated industrialization.
The most salient critiques of AI apply to all of industrial technology. It’s all ecocidal, it‘s all heavily weaponized by the State, it all not only facilitates but demands mass social engineering and the systematic denial of individual autonomy.
There is absolutely no comparison between crypto and AI in terms of utility. Niche currency that solves problems most of the public isn’t concerned about vs. something that can be applied in all aspects of life with which computers are involved.
It’s more akin to the internet than crypto.
maybe ”sarcasm quotes” would have been better. The point is that the term “AI“ already emphasizes that it’s not real intelligence.
I’d understand it much more for terms like “machine” or even “synthetic” intelligence.

I’ve seen the use of scare quotes around “AI” like this a few times and I don’t get it.
“Artificial” is already in the name. It in no way implies actual consciousness. It straight up says “artificial.”
If anything, putting “AI” in quotes is implying it’s *real* rather than artificial intelligence.
Dream come true.
(Literally, a couple of years ago i dreamed about watching a new Boards of Canada video, then telling everyone they were back & nobody believed me)
Preach it brother
This is outrageous.
Just after Trump announced his sham ceasefire, Israel bombed an ambulance workers funeral in South Lebanon.
Channel 4 News was there and captured everything.
Israel does NOT want peace. It wants to keep committing genocide and stealing other people’s land.

I don’t consider myself a leftist, i don’t want the the spread of socialism, or of any policies whatsoever.
Policies are the problem. No small part of the reason these marches & events are worse than useless is they’re rallies for more politicians, more elections, and more policies.
Indeed, the state is the problem.
The state also is what implements gun control measures.
Mike Bloomberg, the co-founder of gun control organizatio Everytown, is worth over $100 billion.
Thats more than the annual revenue of *the entire US firearms industry.*
Anyone that describes a federal assault weapons ban as "common sense gun control" is an idiot, and that's without considering anything else other than it being physically impossible.

Boards of Canada sitting in a glass obelisk on a remote Scottish island fast-forwarding through VHS tapes of old Sesame Street episodes, waiting for Big Bird to say 'toilet' so they can sample it, distort it beyond recognition, and bury it so deep in the mix no one will ever hear it.
So I actually got one of these in the mail.
