Nat’s dream job comes calling when a college needs someone to take charge of an annual haunt. One year before, Nat’s predecessor went inside the haunt—but he never came out.
NEW SCRIBE ALERT! @douglasford.bsky.social joins HORRIFIC SCRIBES with a perfect tale for #Halloween2025, "Why I'm Running the #Spookshow Now." Stage blood! Real blood! Are those organs really being ripped out? Is that really an extended reference to #HerschellGordonLewis? horrificscribblings.com
Wow! What a great review! I’m flattered to be included.
Oh you’re right! He needs to be here!:)
In an extraordinary display of public support, heads of state, heads of government, and foreign ministers from all over Europe and Canada are posting in support of Ukraine in response to the Oval Office meeting with Trump, Zelenskyy, and Vance.
Can't help but notice Vance chose the couch... 😂
Same here. I’m glad Zelensky didn’t take any of their shit.
These fucking assholes. The entire Axis of Idiocy that is Fox/Newsmax/Breitbart would have run for their lives the second a Russian tank crossed the border with Ukraine.
The Soviets gave him a code name when they recruited him as an asset: Krasnov. I say we use that name going forward.
The 4K disc of Dr. Jekyll and the Werewolf reveals some detail I never noticed before, like how green and nasty Waldemar Daninsky’s werewolf teeth are before they’re dripping with viscera.
When compiling your Valentine’s Day lists of crazy, smutty but also sorta tender horror books, please don’t forget Little Lugosi (A Love Story) by me from Madness Heart Press. #leechesarelove #indiehorrorbooks
Really grateful to all of you who got Let’s Cut Up Dad! into the Godless top ten. Keep supporting retailers who contribute to worthy causes like @godlesshorrors. In the meantime, for those of you who prefer printed and bound volumes, I have one more hardcover that needs a good home.
Stephanie Jensen is right, I think—Who Dies First is probably my best book, and it NEEDS YOUR LOVE! Please buy or borrow it and read it. I’ll be your friend for life, as long as I don’t die first.
New short fiction from me! Probably the most "meta" thing I've ever written, an introduction to a collection of stories that doesn't exist. And it IS a horror story. I hope it's as much fun to read as it was to write. What do you have to lose? It doesn't cost a thing!

“The Widow’s Tower,” one of the stories included in Let’s Cut Up Dad! offers a look at what happens after the conclusion of The Bride of Frankenstein. I always wanted to see more from the Bride, and this story was my attempt to satisfy that itch.
Book birthdays do not get old. My third collection of horror fiction is officially “born” today. Cover by the great Lynne Hansen.
Saddened to hear about the untimely passing of Andrew Pyper. I enjoyed all of his books, but The Residence is a masterwork.
Thanks again, Joe!
Aww, that’s what I call a good partner. Thank you for posting that!
I was found reading The Last Slaughter, and my partner rushed me to open an early gift. "So you don't go buying more Ford before Christmas." I'm so excited! @douglasford.bsky.social
Thank you, Reed!
Thank you so much!!
Guess what I have? COPIES of my latest novella I can ship out with an autograph! If you have a Paypal account, gimme a buzz.
One of the revelations found on the second volume of All the Haunts Be Ours—a Spanish film that speaks to our current circumstances in some profoundly unsettling ways.
I will come over to your house too and read passages from Who Dies first, but you have to buy a copy first.
I’ve been learning about Haitian Creole for a novel I’m writing, including how people in that culture respond when asked “How are you?” Rather than “okay” or “fine,” a typical answer is “I’m strong.” Considering what has transpired this past week, I think this should be our go-to answer.
