The thing about that WaPo editorial that kills me is that they took stats showing a massive concentration of wealth in the top .1%, concluded that life is just getting worse and worse for the wealthy because extra income means extra taxes. That’s literally the opposite of the right takeaway.
Also: (a) you don’t have to choose; you can raise taxes on people making $300K and raise them even more on people making millions of dollars; and (b) the more money you make, the less of it you need, as a percentage. Wealthy folks’ share of taxes is supposed to be bigger than their share of income.
They have the obligation and duty to exercise their duty and obligation, and I can't emphasize enough how many other synonyms they might have, carry, bear, hold, and possess.
