I finally created my talk on “The Map is Not the Territory”.

Will be releasing a recording soon for it.

One reason I’ve wanted to prepare a talk on this is because I hear a lot of people misunderstanding what RAG is all about. They try too hard to make their representations look like the entities

This weekend I’ve been looking at personal UI for chat. I’m realizing that “profiles” and “templates” are a nice abstraction

I hope the tournament portion will be available to watch at some point. Sounds cool

Yesterday I looked into “mode selection” for agent-based UIs. Both OpenAI’s canvas and Claude’s artifacts tend to get mixed up a lot. Surprisingly Cursor’s is better than both!

Today I learned that llm powered package updates aren’t as easy as expected! Tried to let Sonnet3.5 update and fix changes. After a ton of agent loops had to bail.

Yesterday I spent a bunch of time making Sonnet3.5 write tests for my pdf reader/annotator.

I got test coverage up but I ended up hunting a long tail of bad interactions.

I think I need to prompt explicitly for smaller test files.

A valid criticism of me, is that I share things I’m working on too late. Let’s see if I can improve that in 2025.
