I think this is wrong. In fact I think you can believe P is false and still believe P seems true, so obviously you could also be unsure of P and think P seems true.

I’ve started a discussion group for Michael Friedman’s reconsidering logical positivism and I thought I’d post here in case anybody here was interested in joining. It should be pretty laid back so I encourage people to stop by even if they can’t do the reading.
do you still have the list of sources for the article (even if they're in Russian) or the contact of the original author?
An ex-mutual from functional programming twitter blocked me for calling Yarvin a fascist 😃
If you’re able to track down the original essay I’d love to read it.
In particular I'd like to source the claim that they streaked their hair with lye because I haven't found this in things that I've read like stites
@margaret.bsky.social do you have any of your research notes from when you did a podcast episode on nihilism. I'd be interested if you've held onto a list of sources
I wanted to use the indexed functor trick to do mutual recursion via recursion schemes but I thought it might get awkward, but it actually Just Worked™️. I wonder if there is some category theory explanation for why this works…
in the original verse calculus paper the authors avoid outlining an evaluation strategy saying that the design space is "beyond the scope of this paper". Has anyone since written about this or is there a reference implementation I can check out?
A young Carnap condemning the role of German intellectuals' apolicitism in bringing about World War I.

My most lib take is that I think Habermas is the best member of the Frankfurt school
I mean he has a far worse influence due to all the shit he funds, but the essays on DEI/affirmative action that kicked off his public political life are basically identical to Fukuyama’s arguments
I wonder how Hayek would have coped with the weird economy we have nowadays, where startups raise billions of dollars during their initial seed funding and some of the largest companies valuation relies on promises of profitability years and years in the future.
96% of children in Gaza feel that their death is imminent and almost half want to die as a result of trauma. 92% of the children in the survey were “not accepting of reality”, 79% suffer from nightmares and 73% exhibit symptoms of aggression.
Austrian economists must be stopped
Carl Menger had a son Karl Menger who also wrote some stuff on economics
"This is why we are neither for a majority nor for a minority government; neither for democracy nor for dictatorship."

There are lots of things I care deeply about that I never or rarely post about. You can't tell what matters to ppl by what's online, like you can't tell what's real by what's online. It's not just what you say but how you say it. Liberation isn't just when ppl talk more but say little of substance.
In defense of operational semantics I think they are quite nice philosophically speaking. IMO at some point you need to ground yourself in something operational (even if informally) if you want avoid the possibility of competing incompatible interpretations.
I just realized Alucard is just Dracula backwards
The reaction to the UHC CEO being assassinated has completely discredited all the dem strategists attributing the 2024 loss to the dems being too far left.
Peter Thiel, Jordan Peterson and Camile Paglia are liberals in the same tradition of Hannah Arendt and Francis Fukuyama.
I post one time about sandwiches…
America is a deeply divided country except apparently on the topic of murdering health care CEOs (they're for it)
This is one of the (many) detrimental effects of the centering of personal virtue in political discourse.
The ahistoricism with which people approach questions like “were the Bolsheviks feminist?” Is mind boggling. If you want to get past being Not Even Wrong go read this book.
Trying to position Kollontai relative to “feminism” in this unqualified sense shows a total lack of appreciation for the historical context and the ways in which these terms evolved over time.
