Last Monday, ACLU-SDIC and Valle Unido were invited to join a resident-led town hall in El Centro. Residents discussed the ongoing data center developments and their concerns and questions about how the project impacts the future of Imperial Valley.

You have options for how to vote in the primary election on June 2!

First step – check or update your voter registration. Then, you can either mail in your ballot, drop it off at a drop box or visit a vote center.

One year ago today, the Trump administration detained Palestinian activist Mohsen Mahdawi in retaliation for his advocacy.

Despite the Trump administration’s campaign to deport and punish him for exercising his First Amendment rights, he has never lost his resolve to speak out and seek justice.

Research shows that when schools support students for who they are, they learn better, make friends, and grow up healthier and happier!

This session focused on students’ rights and their freedom to learn and be themselves at school. California has some of the strongest laws in the country, and knowing your rights can help protect you from unlawful treatment and empower you with tools to respond if your rights are violated.

Want to help? We All We Got San Diego is having a portable charger and phone drive to help folks safely complete their journeys.

You can drop these items off Tue - Fri 2-10pm or Sat & Sun 11am-10pm at Gossip Grill at 1220 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92103. The drive runs through Monday, June 1.

Many immigrants who are released from detention centers are left on the side of the road late at night, with their belongings in potato sacks and without access to a phone or charger, preventing them from arranging transportation, accessing GPS or calling their sponsor or families.

Imagine traveling across the U.S. without a phone, or a way to charge one if you have it.
