A screenshot of Desert Strike for the Sega Genesis/Megadrive.
A commander is pointing at a charkboard while pilots look on. The text reads:

LISTEN UP, PILOTS

YOU ARE ABOUT TO BEGIN A CAMPAIGN TO SAVE THE WORLD FROM A PSYCHO MADMAN.

UNLESS YOU STOP THIS MADMAN HE WILL START WORLD WAR III. OR EVEN WORSE...

being a human is naturally confusing, it's like you're riding in the passenger seat of a car, and you look over and you're also driving, but you can't convince the driver to go where you want, and you are also the car itself

You couldn’t make Castaway today. All the packages would be $3 dresses from SHEIN. Just Tom Hanks trying on women’s clothes for 2 hours.

Trying to be more positive, taking more joy from celebrating and uplifting good things rather than hating on and mocking bad things. I don't know how to square this new outlook with my lifelong love of MST3K.

Lol no, of German descent but not named Penny. I claimed it as my icon for its representation of a proofreader's mark for deletion. Been using that for online gaming for a while now

Two pictures of the pillsbury dough boy: once is on a purple background with the caption “he is risen! happy Easter!”, and the other is tan and brown, similar to a cracker, on a white background saying “he is not! Happy Passover!”

It’s time to post one of my favorite memes of the year.

Most people don't know this, but if Jesus sees dreary and wet weather on Easter, he goes back inside his tomb for another six weeks of Lent.

Fun fact about Mike “I’m related to Carl” Yastrzemski: he learned how to spell his name to the tune of the Mickey Mouse Club

It's true. It took a lot of talk therapy and trial and error on medication, but the other day I was almost moved to tears by how green the grass was in the local park

There was a series of tweets on how to describe the band Cake to anyone under 30 ("spoken word poetry at a bowling alley", "Weezer with a trumpet", "half-time ska because the guitarist has carpal tunnel") that slaughtered me at the time

Screenshot of a woman adding a sweater to a comically oversized storage container. Like hot-tub sized. Measurements (not pictured) for the container are 80cm x 60cm x 48cm

I don't know about that there, chief. Looks photoshopped. I can tell from the pixels and from seeing quite a few 'shops in my day

No April Fools jokes this year unless they're heartwarming and uplifting. Like the local burger place around here is releasing their signature sauces as lotions and perfumes. That kind of goofy stuff

We had all those things in the 90s! I'm having flashbacks to eating Snackwell cookies at softball practice!

Love this! I think the challenge of limitations can be a positive thing and lead to wonderful results. Look at the soundtrack to Super Mario Bros. Three voices and a percussion click track, and Koji Kondo developed something memorable and scalable.
