We perpetually have a provincial government that has no interest or knowledge in how cities work, with policies that consistently undermine the efforts of municipal governments. We don't even have a minister of municipal affairs or equivalent.

You can't please everyone but this is fairly impressive IMO.
I think there's a good chance that a new pool will define the next mayor's tenure much how the new Playhouse has defined Kate's time in office. But probably won't get nearly as much pushback from the population despite having way fewer users than the Playhouse does.
So much nuance to a lot of these that is hard to encapsulate in a poll.
I also think the general population isn't even aware of a lot of what is being done in the city. "Better sports and recreational infrastructure" is easy to vote for if you don't realize a lot is already being done on that file.
Most if not all of these topologies are legal in Fredericton but make up a tiny sliver of what we build. The reasons for that are varied but it would be great to see more fine-grained housing options particularly in new neighbourhoods, with both rental and ownership models.
Haven't been there yet but have heard the atmosphere is great.
Plausible if it was still 2019. Maybe.
Just realized there's only one bathroom on the main floor. Wtf is this builder thinking?
But seriously, $650k for a fairly basic three bedroom bungalow without a garage? They've basically tacked on $150-200k for it having a finished basement.
My favorite part of this listing – aside from the insane price – is the AI kitchen with the microwave range hood above the dishwasher and there cabinets above the stove. www.realtor.ca/real-estate/...
I'd take that Mini.
I don't think that's possible with our regulated prices.
Campaign graphic: "If I am elected you: you will see: 1. Science East reopened and modernized 2. College Hill rezoned for mixed use development 3. improved walkability 4. sustainable green infrastructure 5. improved public services for families
It's interesting to see city council candidates making such specific promises. Clear indicator they don't understand the job. The College Hill area already went through a blanket rezoning process last year. Mixed use along Windsor would be great but you can use zone amendments to accomplish that.
Had a good laugh at the first two points here.
Here’s a starting point: A restaurant review by someone who barely knows what a restaurant is. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIG-...
There is someone running for Fredericton city council who has some interesting content on their YouTube channel, including a video called "My fail attempt at removing my own tooth" and the followup, "Second failed attempt to remove tooth". 🙃
So glad that the province mailed me a letter last week letting me know I’d receive my replacement health card in the mail this week.
What tax breaks did he give to luxury automobiles?
65" for $1200 which was dirt cheap at the time.
My TVs are 15 and 13 years old.
Paid over $2 for premium the other day – 33% more than I paid the last time I filled up. Only needing to fill up once a month I rarely pay much attention to the price but that was a noticeable jump.
I was speaking strictly about your "zero extra utility" statement. I'm not so sure it's a marketing choice – consumers over the last couple of decades have resoundingly rejected regular cab trucks and they are now extinct outside of full size trucks (where the vast majority are bought by fleets).
Not quite a fair assessment as they no longer offer a regular cab, so they have definitely gained utility in terms of interior space.
The Tacoma name didn't exist until 1995. Before that they used the very imaginative Toyota Pickup branding.
Was confused that the title wasn't correct and then noticed it was the French cover. Haven't seen this but I've always enjoyed Irving's books. Will add it to the list.
Yes, it was around for quite a while. First in the the Silverwood Motel and later on Main Street.
And for how many years has The Schnitzel Parlour been closed?
