China’s energy fortress was built to withstand just this type of oil shock | CNN For more than a decade, leader Xi Jinping has overseen a transformation within the Chinese economy with one aim: making it energy-secure.

The historic oil crisis triggered by the US and Israel’s war on Iran is posing the sternest test to date of China’s Promethean effort toward energy self-sufficiency. It’s a test that China appears to be passing.

I have those in my local. But price hiking and customer manipulation pre-dates them. Perhaps it will be made easier by them. I have a 'baseline' cost figure in my shopping app to keep an eye on stuff.

Okay. It's back to circles, with a legend added; individual infected (could also be symptomatic, hospitalised, etc.) units are also rounded.

Finally got to Foundation S03. Woah. What a series. Definitely better binged. In retrospect, I should have done with the other seasons! Although, S03 does a good job of updating the viewer on the hostriy of most characters, & sure gets the heart pumping!
30min left. Saving it for tonight.

Australia faced the same dilemma as China in 2004 but made the wrong call While the rest of us count the cost in higher fuel costs, higher inflation and a weaker economy, Β China β€” the actual winner of the war β€” will be enjoying a surge of global interest in its solar panels...

"The white paper did result in a $1.5 billion cut in the excise tax on off-road diesel β€” to help farmers and mining companies β€” which further entrenched Australia's addiction to diesel."
