He got to live out his days happily haunting Jon Pertwee's garden, until the polystyrene wore away in the elements.
It'd be fun to see him return in the modern show!
So many classic films are cheaper to buy and own physical media than rent digitally - plus the chance for tasty special features/commentaries etc.
Even if, post-watch, you immediately donate it to charity or give it away, still a win!
The BBC are always the first to lead with bad news about themselves. No other network - and certainly no newspaper - would do this. Many wouldn't mention it at all, unless obliged by a watchdog or lawsuit to do so.
It's either brave or foolhardy, or possibly both.
An irony that the Harry Potter story itself leans several times on "call the bad thing by its name, don't let it hide behind euphemisms".
Also "likes wizards generally but not that one specifically" is one of those great sentences where everyone knows which one you mean even WITHOUT naming.
Limited edition has lost its shine slightly now everything the major outlets release is a "Numbered Collectors Edition of only Ten Billion Units - BUY NOW WHILE STOCKS LAST" but a true artist numbered edition has value and appeal, provided the limitation is stuck to and not later reissued.
Being hand signed by the artist is more important to me than the format of the printing. (Assuming it's not just on photocopier paper, there is a minimum standard.)
Copies of Rosie Talbot's "Sixteen Souls" from original ARC to various international editions, with a York Ghost and World Book Day keyring.
Finally added the original 2022 ARC of @merrowchild.bsky.social's "Sixteen Souls" to my collection!
A perfect way to round off @worldbookdayuk.bsky.social.
Can't recommend this book (and Rosie's other work too) enough.
Hope you all found something great to read today.

It's @worldbookdayuk.bsky.social tomorrow!
Here's another of my favourites, the saztaculous "Matlock the Hare" trilogy by @matlockhare.bsky.social. Well worth joining them for a majickal adventure.
I'm looking forward to a busy, bookish day...
World Book Day 2026 "Powered by Reading" badge in front of a set of all Cynthia Murphy's books.
Today's @worldbookdayuk.bsky.social selection is this set of @cynthiamurphyya.bsky.social's suspenseful books.
Highly recommended!
World Book Day keyring in front of "Do You Believe In Ghosts?" book, and "Uncanny" book, and a York Ghost Merchants ghost.
Since @worldbookdayuk.bsky.social is almost here, I'm going to revisit some recent favourite books.
Here's @dannyrobins.bsky.social & Ellen Walker's "Do You Believe In Ghosts?"
Just the sort of spooky book I loved as a child and still love today. A perfect supernatural primer!
Yes! Really exciting news.
If you've not read "A Kind of Magic", @jonmelville.bsky.social's first #Highlander book, I recommend grabbing a copy of that too.

There can be only… two?!
I’ve written a new official book on Highlander for the 40th anniversary - plenty I couldn’t get for the first book inc new interviews, unseen photos, deleted scene coverage… even lifelong fans haven’t heard a lot of this.
Published by Titan Books on 1st September!
Priority one message! The kickstarter for To Boldy Go Figure, the next generation of the Go Figure series is live now. Backers can look forward to exclusive art cards and postersas well as exclusive alternative covers (including Klingon). #StarTrek

Looks good doesn't it?
Star Trek pals, you're gonna want to see this!
This was my first encounter with the sometimes wide differences between album and single versions of the same song. Heard the radio-play version over and over on my childhood off-air-recorded mixtape, then later bought the album and noticed the changes.
Great song though!
Came here to make sure someone had posted this response. I see that the good work has been done.
(Doffs hat politely, smiles and carries on.)
Gobsmack are the definition of what the much-touted phrase "local independent shop" should be.
Support them if you can.
They've recently published a great book too, which I recommend. I'm sure they may have mentioned it themselves if you've seen their latest videos. 😉
Heartily agree on both counts.
A truly brilliant film. Delivers on the "spot something new with every fresh viewing" level too.
Should I be holding out hope for another Goldsboro edition to pair with the first? (Fingers crossed.)
The scores for the Star Wars prequel/sequels are the one part that consistently delivers at the epic level every other aspect of those films aspires to/wishes it was.
Damn you. 😛 Who can resist KRAMPUS at this time of year?
TWO successful "I think this would be better handled in January" emails sent today. Huzzah!
Oh no! One fell into my shopping basket. Oops!
Couldn't resist, as - entirely down to you - I've had @greenlungband.bsky.social on heavy rotation in the car this year.
Isn't he one of the Haven holiday camp mascots? ("We're having fun in the Tiger Club" etc.) Sponsor placement?
View from a seat at the Mill Studio at Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud theatre for a production of "Haunted Shadows".
Programme, tickets and related ephemera for "Haunted Shadows: The Gothic Tales of Edith Nesbit".
Excellent gothic tales from
@clairelouiseamias.bsky.social at @yvonnearnaud.bsky.social in #Guildford this weekend.
The tour continues, so be sure to catch #HauntedShadows when it's near you between now and next May.
Tide.lamp on a cluttered shelf!
Delighted with my new Tide.lamp from @tidelight.bsky.social which recently arrived. A simple concept, expertly executed and so easy to set up and use.
Thank you to @visitthecave.bsky.social for sharing this project as I'd not have known about it otherwise and it's a lovely item to now have at home.
The Pump House at @retrocollective.co.uk can now be added to the list of "Places I've not been to but that have my name on the wall"!
Great to see how well the Pump House conversion has gone.
One day I'll get there in person...
