But he's moved from 'we need to do x' to 'I don't know'. He's complaining about the mentality of the team / squad, when it's his job to build that. And this is with the softest questioner available, not some rottweiler. I find it pretty disheartening.

The top two goalscorers in League 1 have both played for #LOFC (one still does). But even more surprisingly, they both play for teams who are rubbish and could be relegated.

102 years ago... but yesterday, former Os player Terry McDonald was back at @lofcsupporters.bsky.social.
#LOFC have only beaten #ManU twice, both times 1-0. McDonald, now 87, scored the winning goal in the more recent victory - September 1962 in the old First Division.

Wellens' post-match interview reminded me of Carl Fletcher ("If I knew that, it would be easy, wouldn't it?") and John Sitton ("Sometimes they're just making it up as they go along...").
"I think the biggest disappointment today is our mentality."
This stuff is not filling me with confidence.

Ouch.

Don't think you can blame #LOFC for that. We didn't actually play you in that calendar year at all!

I'll get back to you in a couple of weeks.

Ah, but remember the joint protests in 2016-17. Plus we gave you all the points that season as a favour.

To be honest, I've seen better performances from #LOFC.

Just realised that the 2026 #LOFC calendar has Dom Ballard as the featured player for August. Seems a bit optimistic.

"Naturally, desperation marked much of what the Orient attempted..."
I suppose it's meant to be taken in context, but that fronted adverbial is perfect.

This doesn't exactly answer your question, but I do pay an extra £3 per copy to have our finest fanzine (A4 size) posted to me. Cover price is £2. Postage is close to prohibitive for this sort of thing because of the weight.

They should definitely increase the price of the programme to sort out the apparent anomaly. Maybe £350? Then you wouldn't be bothered by the extra £4.95.

Arachnophiles should note that 'Spider' Parker (mentioned above), Paul Cobb, Dave Webb and Barry Silkman have all played for #LOFC.

Half-hearted appeals for offside against Ballard (top centre of picture) just after this. It was anticipation, stupid. He reacted before anyone else worked out what was happening. That's how he was so far ahead of the defenders once the ball arrived. Enjoy him while you can, #LOFC fans.

Oh well. It adds a bit of excitement to the end of the season.

Richie Wellens is unable to get send off today.
Lincoln have already lost at home in the league this season. Admittedly that was only once. And it was in October.

Was it goal difference? I'm actually old enough to remember goal average being used. But these matches predate me and I've no idea what system the Southern League would have used anyway.

But it seems to be based on all of the results so far, rather than more recent trends. Or maybe it isn't, but it looks like that!

1 week ago 0 0 1 0

I suppose what I'm grasping for here is that there's no weighting. It's all just straight number crunching. Example: #LOFC are at Lincoln on Saturday. 3 possible point distribution outcomes. But there's a far greater chance of a Lincoln win than a draw, and a greater chance of a draw than an Os win.

According to Paul Terry, everyone's ill or injured. Apart from Richie, who will be suspended again.

Absolutely gutted that I failed to predict Wellens' sending off yesterday. According to Paul Terry, he just asked the referee a question. I suspect it might have been a rhetorical question, mind.

Well, that's the model. But the outcome is suspiciously similar!

These do seem to be basically the current league tables with a bit of adjustment for games in hand, though.
