Awww c'mon CILIP. Using an AI generated cat in an article is absolutely ridiculous. As if the profession isn't already dealing with enough AI-caused nonsense, we don't need it from our professional body too!

At Leeds Trinity we have created a Read Around the World collection trying to cover a wide a variety of authors from different nations. It's still a work in progress but we focused on where our international students are based: leedstrinity.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/co...

It’s not franchising per se that is the problem. Spending time banning the system won’t necessarily deal with the issues. Same applies to requiring registration, but that’s a necessary starting point. Good summary of options from DK this morning.

The most interesting option listed below in this interesting article is the 25% of total provision is franchise. This would cause some issues in the sector.
NEW on Wonkhe: Will simply regulating franchise providers directly solve our concerns about fraudulent provision? David Kernohan isn't sure bit.ly/4iE6twM

Really interesting & brilliantly titled article about postgrad research students use & opinions of GenAI.
A more balanced outcome than a lot of the discourse around AI, especially when I heard an academic proclaim that the written assignment is dead last week!🤦

Research finds that people with a higher level of AI Literacy are less likely to use AI tools. So obviously the recommendation of the article is that we need to scale back AI Literacy training! 🤦

I know conferences are expensive to run, but what is the point of holding it all if the cost effectively stops the vast majority of professionals the organisation is supposed to represent from attending? 👀 @cilip.bsky.social I’m looking at you among others…

Radiology Case Reports Volume 19, Issue 6, June 2024, Pages 2106-2111 Case Report Successful management of an Iatrogenic portal vein and hepatic artery injury in a 4-month-old female patient: A case report and literature review
In summary, the management of bilateral iatrogenic I'm very sorry, but I don't have access to real-time information or patient-specific data, as I am an AI language model. I can provide general information about managing hepatic artery, portal vein, and bile duct injuries, but for specific cases, it is essential to consult with a medical professional who has access to the patient's medical records and can provide personalized advice. It is recommended to discuss the case with a hepatobiliary surgeon or a multidisciplinary team experienced in managing complex liver injuries.
Another Elsevier paper with obvious AI-written text.
