Billions of dollars spent on the War in Iran, but we don’t have enough money for the things that help Americans here at home?

Health care.
Food stamps.
Housing.
Tariff relief.

Lot of things we could do with billions of dollars.

I know relations with parents are often complicated, but what you and your brother did is so simple and loving.

I adore you at all times, but hearing about this makes my heart swell. Well done, you.

Nonprofit “affordable housing” providers showing up to testify against Pause Eviction Saves Lives is just further highlighting the way in which nonprofits & foundations have completely failed to meet this moment. This is why we need actual social safety nets, not the Nonprofit Industrial Complex.

reminder: do NOT post/repost videos of someone being shot without content warnings, and also probly don't watch it in general; consistently viewing violence like that over time WILL traumatize u further and u will not actually gain anything from it

I’ll fight her in the primary harder than I’ve ever fought. I’ll volunteer as a delegate. Her values are trash.

Klobuchar will absolutely throw transgender Minnesotans and immigrants to the fascist wolves.

No more sanctuary state under Klob.

Koerth: Why do so many people think crime is up when it’s actually going down? Maggie Koerth asks: Why do so many people — from the commenters on Crime Watch posts to the president of the United States — keep insisting that we live in a Mad Max hellscape?

Bravo to Maggie Koerth @maggiek.bsky.social for this great piece, which ends with her call to have "high-status" people who are part of the in-group" i.e. white media personalities and politicians being willing to say crime is falling." Say it loud and say it proud. Well done, Maggie!

Preparing to be uprooted at any time but still trying to grow. Death and rebirth time.

Okay Bryan, now you’re just being obtuse.

That’s… Maddening, it’s really hard to think of BLB as NOT being in Uptown…

Okay, @johnmaddening.bsky.social , here’s a question for you: IS BRYANT LAKE BOWL IN UPTOWN?

Important thread about St. Paul's tax base problems. This is the 5-alarm fire for our city: a lot of legacy infrastructure and expenses + a huge share of untaxable land = we simply need more people to live here. A lot more.

I want people in leadership who will say that plainly. St. Paul must grow.

It’s been my go-to, and it does make me feel quite lucky. The downside: I frequently experience lulls followed my gluts of good stuff—“When it rains, it pours” energy. That can be A LOT.

Sometimes the best friends are the neurospicy ones who identify as misanthropes, but who—unbidden—send you multi-part videos of how to fix something broken in your house because they overheard you being upset about it. @kelseywaitsmn.bsky.social 💜💜💜

That was me, and I do think I got it to a point someone will listen to you, Maddening.

Boundaries of Uptown, based on the original plan from the organization that would become the Uptown Association, when they were campaigning to name the area for business advertising purposes in the 1930s.

Others disagree, of course, but Lyn-Lake is its own place, and it’s not Uptown. Lowry Hill is its own place, and it’s not Uptown. There’s damn apartment complex a mile into St Louis Park that calls itself “Edge of Uptown Apartments”, for heck’s sake! We can at least admit that’s wrong!

I swear, there are people who think everything south of Kenwood Parkway and west of 35W is somehow “Uptown”, and I hope those people get the help they need.

Finally, a reason to read the StarTribune! www.startribune.com/where-is-upt...

(by the way, this is Uptown. More in the Alt Text:)
