Bhí mé an-sásta daonra nua Lycopodiella inundata a aimsiú innui i Conamara theas, tetrad nua. Bhí sé fás le rud an-cosúil le Odontoschisma fluitans ach shílfea nach gheobhfadh an dhá speiceas sin le chéile?

I was very pleased to find a new population of marsh clubmoss today in south Conamara.

This is a really important story. If Europe makes Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) with products of beef farming linked with tropical deforestation, then we're only decarbonising on paper and getting nowhere.

Glad to finally see Calypogeia sphagnicola growing in a Sphagnum capillifolium hummock in Clochar na gCon, Conamara. Tiny little shoots, pointed leaves and this one had 'marsupia' visible under the microscope. Thanks @nimbosaecology.bsky.social for confirming

REMINDER: our next Green Drinks will feature a great talk for anyone interested in learning about renewable energy & storage options in Ireland, & financial supports available. The need to switch to renewables has only grown with the latest oil crisis, so come learn how to make it happen!

where rhodo/other invasives are present. Main risk species in the context of this woodland are rhodo and perhaps Himalayan honeysuckle which is already present within Seanna gurrán woodland

Mapping rhodo and other invasive species with Dúlra/Forum Conamara today. Centre of photos is an important old oak woodland site @irishwoodlandtrust.bsky.social which currently has no rhododendron and minimal grazing from deer (for now!) Now is the perfect time to work with landowners in area...

Despite sporadic showers, we were quite productive yesterday! We removed rhodo from ~ .6 acres, and we're slowly but sure surely turning the map pink 💪🏽

One day of (partial) sunshine in the field and you forget all the things you give out about!

This is a special ALEW site of national importance that will hopefully be bursting with life again in a few years.

We just need to get moving on official org/charity set up for RR!

Great little hike on Mt Brennan with some friends in fairly windy conditions. Was lucky enough to see Mastigophora woodsii along a couple of spots just off path. Such a beautiful thing
