#BahamutLagoon was out 29 Years Ago (1996) for #SNES in Japan! 🐉 This #TRPG was part of #Square's beautifully polished late Super Famicom releases. It only released in Japan, but a number of notable talents got together for this fan translation.

Mighty Final Fight (1993) is a beat 'em up by Capcom for the NES with RPG-like levels. A spinoff of Capcom's famous arcade hit, 1989's Final Fight, players take control of chibi versions of three fighters as they hit the streets of Metro City to rescue the mayor's daughter! Computer & Video Games Magazine #112, a UK game magazine from March 1991. The cover is framed in red "Danger" markings. Up top, it lists "AMIGA MEGADRIVE ST SUPER FAMICOM C64 SEGA SPECTRUM SEGA AMSTRAD PC ENGINE PC NINTENDO" (in that order, yes I know there's repeats) The title is yellow in a red circle; below, Poison (a redhead fighter in a Shadoloo flight cap, wielding a knife and handcuffs, and wearing a gold coffin earring) looks at you, to a backdrop of Vegas neon. Bottom left, a first-person racing game screenshot is subtitled "SUPER MONACO GP: US GOLD'S BEST CONVERSION YET?" The footer states "REVIEWED! FAMICOM SUPER MARIO WORLD, TURRICAN 2, SOLAR JETMAN, SNAKE RATTLE 'N' ROLL, PRO TENNIS TOUR 2" and "WIN!! EXTERMINATOR COIN-OP SUPER FAMICOM AND CONSOLES GLAORE!"

The last skeet is a nice segue to give a heads-up that I've set up a dedicated PS1 and 2 stuff account.

The PS1 and its library are especially meaningful to me and have been my core collecting focus for years, so if you're interested in just those, give it a follow. 💜

This took so long to accomplish! 6/7 issues of the last & nearly lost Adventure of Link manga by Ranmaru is now archivally scanned. I make no secret that this is my favorite Zelda manga even with my deep love for Himekawa's works. It has so many series firsts in it! archive.org/details/zine...

Maldita Castilla Megadrive/Genesis (2025) YouTube video by PlayOnRetro

Maldita Castilla is coming to the Genesis! Another team is working it separate from the DC version. According to uvejuegos, it will be "a freer adaptation, a new playable experience different from the original version by Juan Antonio Becerra (Locomalito)."

ファイアーエムブレム アカネイア戦記(RPGツクールver) OP YouTube video by tsukishimayayoi

There have been attempts to recreate Satellaview games in various dev tools.

One such project is for BS Fire Emblem in SRPG Maker 95.

This is currently in a set of Fire Emblem games that are on Web Archive.

New thread for my latest #PC-98 #PC-88 and other Japanese vintage computer game cover scans, as the previous one started to get unwieldy. Trying to get my #VGSC tag count up to 300 on IA 😸

Design mock-up for the ill-fated SNES CD-ROM addon that never made it to market. Here it's presented as the Nintendo SUPERDISC CD-ROM System. A logo with adorns the top left with "SUPER DISC" in a thick 90s lettering and "CD-ROM SYSTEM" in a thinner font underneath with a rainbow barline inbetween them.

Below the logo is a tagline written in yellow, saying "Give your system extra power for the ultimate 16-Bit machine! Below that is a radical 90s graphic advertising a demo disc included inside. To the right of the packaging is a Super Nintendo with facsimile of the SuperDisc system underneath, digitally painted to look like it's attached to the console. The drive is open to show a black CD in the tray.

The bottom left has the Nintendo seal of quality and the logos for Sony, Compact Disc and Dolby Surround Sound.

The tag-line "THE VIDEO GAME EXPERIENCE IS NOW POWERED UP!!" is in a thin yellow-orange font. The left of the packaging is black and discusses all the features of the SuperDisc including redbook CD quality audio, enhanced graphics and the SuperFX chip built into the machine and a built in memory storage.

The right advertises brand new releases. Super Mario All Stars, StarFox and Secret of Mana are showcased with Super Metroid, Final Fantasy III (VI), Mega Man X, Castlevania Dracula X, Mario Paint Expansion Disc and SimCity 2000 are advertised as coming soon.

There's also a coupon for five months of Nintendo Power and a SNES cart for free with proof of purchase.

For my design class in college, we had to make packaging for a product that didn't exist. So I thought, "What if Sony and Nintendo actually made the CD add on for the SNES?"

And then it spiraled out of control.

So this already existed back in 95? Wow. I found out about them around 2013 and bought a Nakitek for speedrunning learning and practice. I still have it but used it for the last time like 10 years ago

Prepare to meet thy DOOM! In a very synthwave-ey way - and armed for Quake in its original medieval fantasy form!

John Romero and John Carmack were seen by Electronic Games magazine as the hottest talents in the industry as '94 rolled into '95 and the id Software juggernaut kept on going.
