I keep seeing this as the next domino falling in a chain that started a long time ago. For me, 3 of the most impactful elements are gerrymandering, how most people have to rely on “trusted” sources for info and opinions, and how so many aren’t able to distinguish which actually are trustworthy.

Ah, Jody Lee’s artwork makes me happy. 🥰

(And I might need to re-read multiple Valdemar books again.)

This is Just to Say

I was watching
Your woods
As they filled
With snow

And softly
Sweeping wind and flake
Yielded
To horse-bells.

Forgive me.
They were lovely
So dark
And so deep.

The Giggle was wonderful. It felt like it ended an era of Doctor Who, the one that started in 2005, and began another. (It still feels like it's the story that began in 1963.)

@hankgreen.bsky.social Do you still think we’ll ever get to mass-market availability of mobile phones that charge without cords? And I don’t mean mats instead of plugs, more like ambient, solar, etc.

If your holiday plans are important to you, now and the next few weeks would be a really good time to be extra careful when indoors around others. Covid rates are high and rising and flu and RSV are up there too.

Smited, Smote, Smitten: Queer Longing in Good Omens Well, that went down like a lead balloon. Smited, smote, smitten, here at the end of all things.

This is marvelous.

Animation still of the segment, directed by Jeff Hale, recalling contemporary psychedelic and pop art styles, ornate pinball bumpers, colorful geometrical motifs and whimsical themes and devices inside the machine. Every color is present, and it is otherworldly and familiar all at once. It is bright trippy handdrawn animation that matches perfectly the stanky sound of the song

It is a scientific fact that no song has ever slapped harder than the 1977 Sesame Street funk/jazz Caribbean-infused banger "Pinball Number Count" by Walt Kraemer, Ed Bogas and The Pointer Sisters
