Maybe it's a good thing my lease was only renewed until February. I might actually move to a different building if the price is right. I'd miss the convenience of this location but it would be worth staying warm I guess.

I forgot how drafty my apartment bedroom gets when it's chilly out. My thermostat reads 73 degrees but it feels like 65 😔

I got the affogato! Drove up to an Italian cafe-ice cream shop-thing (?) for a late lunch and ate the most luscious, crispy, gigantic chicken caprese panini I've ever seen. The affogato was alright; it was served in a rather unglamorous coffee cup so I didn't bother getting a photo. Good place tho!

They do have a Vietnamese coffee, which I've also been wanting to try! This starts with a shot of condensed cream; the coffee brews above it and drips down veeeeeeery slowly. Once the brew is done it's mixed together, resulting in a very sweet and bold concoction. Worth the wait! (not my pic)

Today I went to Kaffiene Coffee, a comfy little shop that resides in an old commercial garage (or loading dock?) This is one of a handful of cafes Google suggested when I searched for affogato. Turns out they don't serve it here, but their menu is pretty extensive compared to other cafes I've seen

Quick primer: this elusive little treat consists of a scoop or two of vanilla gelato (or ice cream) with a shot of espresso poured over. I've never had it before and I want to try it cuz like. just look at it

I've begun hunting local establishments for this dessert called "affogato." I've had trouble locating places that actually have it on their menu (I've only found one and it's a 30 min drive away) but it's a good excuse to check out some indie coffee shops!
