I have a well-designed multitip pen that’s stable and has a tight selection of colors that let me productively color-code my notes. Everything has its use case but that likely useless mega-pen up there is a great analogy.

Was speaking to a patient and saw a Christmas card on his bedside table. On the one hand, the Christmas tree drawn on the front featured big ornaments reading “6 7”. On the other hand, it was *drawn*. A handmade card in an era of readily available AI slop, and no meme can take away from that spirit.

Quick year in review as 2025 recedes in the rear-view:

- Finished residency!
- Passed the Boards!
- Landed a job as an Attending Physician!

All laudable things but man it drives home how doctoring can become your entire personality if you let it. Here’s to 2026 having more personal achievements!

The fic wasn’t even an HFY-reactionary-fic, it was about an Affini disgusted with the status quo running away to a remote backwater with their human teaching them to exist/deal with a society set against you. Not exactly what I would call a bad-faith take on the setting, just wiling to question.
