Also, there are still some tickets available for our live show in Belfast on Friday 15 May. We're not recording our live shows any more so you'll get to hear things we can't broadcast. themaclive.com/event/smith-...

In this week's Smith and Sniff OTOSOT spin-off show, we answer questions about accidentally folding a head gasket and who got to wear the white coat on Top Gear. And coming on Monday, a big change in the Smith and Sniff world... podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/s...
Ha!
Whoever left this review of Smith and Sniff has found another car podcast that talks about The Scorpions, Bonnie Tyler and brine tycoons? That's a worry.
Fuck. That’s awful news. I know he’d been through the wringer with his health but last we spoke he seemed good. A lovely man gone far too soon.
Ian died? Oh gosh, no. When?
The thing I can't un-notice about Under Pressure since having it pointed out is that Bowie clearly put a lot more work into his lyrics. Freddie Mercury spends half of his bits just making noises.
I agree. Seems like a natural point to take a breath. Maybe if they were making it now they'd tidy it up a bit in the computer but it hardly messes up the song as it is.
Pet Shop Boys on stage at the Electric Ballroom with Johnny Marr.
A music journalist and an architect (with some bloke who used to be in Modest Mouse). Pure magic.
Going to see Pet Shop Boys tonight. In their honour, my daughter is doing her best Chris Lowe impression (but in a Smith and Sniff cap. Get yours here… smithandsniff.com/collections)
My guess would be a relentless high-speed localisation programme that has no truck with bank holidays.
A prototype of the upcoming Xpeng X9 MPV in swirly wrap, spotted charging up in a service area.
Strangest spot of Easter Monday; a camo-wrapped test car in traffic, heading west near Cardiff. I think it was one of these, an Xpeng X9. A Smith and Sniff listener also spotted one near Chieveley. Chinese car makers clearly optimising bank holiday performance in the M4 corridor.
The extended editions of Failure Is Inevitable and Ambiguous Poems About Death are out on streaming.
You've heard most of it before, but there's a quite a few previously unreleased beauties in there, including the new @sniffpetrol.com remix of Hammered In An Airport

A sign for Smith and Sniff live, but the old text on the sign is still faintly visible and says 'no exit'.
Thanks to everyone who came to our Smith and Sniff live show at Beaulieu last night. Although one of the signs appeared to say no exit, everyone was free to leave at any time and we're very grateful that no one seized this opportunity in despair.
Also, also, also, watch @JonShenanigans new vid in which he explains all the grot shops along the A1 and uses a snippet of my new song about that topic.
Video here: youtu.be/82sZ--913Mo?...
Full song here: ado88.bandcamp.com/track/next-t...
Also, also, don't forget Jonny's new vid in which he's bought a car he doesn't need. youtu.be/lD8m_SRO7Bg?...
Also, don't forget we're doing a live show in Belfast in May. Tickets are selling fast so get in there now if you want to come along. themaclive.com/event/smith-...
Listen to the new Smith and Sniff where I've been driving some surprising old Jags (and the new one, but I'm not supposed to talk about that yet). podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/s...
Released today, this is his video: youtu.be/82sZ--913Mo?...
And this is the full song: ado88.bandcamp.com/track/next-t...
A couple of weeks ago I posted a new song to my Bandcamp project about those adult shops next to the A1. Quite by chance, Jon from the excellent Auto Shenanigans was working on a vid about those very shops and asked if he could use the track. I was honoured to say yes...
Finally, I've added a re-recorded version of an old GJOS song to my 'just finish off all these half-done songs you've got lying around, you wazzock' Bandcamp project. ado88.bandcamp.com
Since I'm in a plugging mood, I should also tell you I'm back with the old gang in the latest episode of Gareth Jones on Speed. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/g...
Forgot to mention earlier, it's Friday and that means a new episode of our Smith and Sniff second show in which we answer listeners' questions. This week, strange gauges, special editions, and we learn something new about the Flemish language. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/s...
Haaaa!
For last year's Gareth Jones on Speed 20th birthday live show I re-did the arrangement and wrote new words for a song we came up with years ago. Here's a re-recorded version of that updated track. It's about dating someone who reminds you of an F1 champion ado88.bandcamp.com/track/its-ju...

In case you were wondering, a couple of people with inside knowledge have confirmed this was a test mule for the X350 XJ. The lumps on the bonnet were to accommodate the air suspension. So that's that cleared up then.
“C’mon guys, let’s finish this job in Scot-land”
Negatron. The Thunderbird was close to production at this point and being engineered in Dearborn so no reason for a powertrain mule to be in Scotland.
You’d stick engines in actual Range Rovers for that. Plus, that ‘Lion’ V8 didn’t fit in the X350 XJ so I doubt it’d go in an S-Type.
