Every time I see something that's supposed to be motivational about promoting your books/comics/art, it makes me feel sick.

I think I'd rather be obscure and never think about that shit than be a successful "content creator."

I hire artists. We work together and create comic books based on the stories and characters I create. That's closer to creating art but I'm no artist, and I respect them enough to acknowledge that.

You confused creativity with being spoon fed.

No one is preventing you from making art but yourself.

Asking AI to generate media for you is an of consumption, not creation. If you confused the two, even for a moment, then you know what it feels like to be robbed of your birthright as a human being.

Humans create art and in so doing we create ourselves. Don't let yourself be cheated.

If I commission a work of art, that doesn't make me an artist. It makes me someone who hired an artist.

If I do the same thing but delegate the creative act to an unthinking machine, that doesn't bring me closer to being ab artist, but further away. (Cultivating a craft would bring me closer.)

Using AI generated media for your cover makes your whole book look like churned out slop.

I can't believe I haven't read Bone yet. It looks awesome and two different people told me my first comic "kinda reminded" them of Bone. You'd think that'd be enough.
