Screenshot of Google having been asked "is blender easy", responds by saying "Blender has a steep learning curve and is generally considered difficult for beginners due to its complex interface and vast" before suddenly breaking off mid sentence and spouting off an incredibly long sequence of numbers

Screenshot of Blender's "Playback" popover menu. It now has a Loop menu, with options "Infinite", "Stop at End Frame", "Stop at Start Frame", "Restore Frame", and "Bounce".
Loop control coming to Blender 5.2!
Now you finally have control over playback looping. Loop infinitely, or stop it at the end, at the start, or restore where you started playback from. And the most fun one: make it bounce!

In some of my tests, Sparc3D produced the results from a single photo that are, frankly, quite crazy.

Screenshot of the game Vampire Survivors showing some default 3D objects in the background. One of the objects is Blender's monkey head, Suzanne.

when it comes to 3d modeling the 90-10 rule usually applies. that is to say 10% of the time is spent working and 90% is spent going haha model go spinny in the viewport of your application of choice

One significant limitation for motion graphic presets with #GeometryNodes will be removed in Blender 5.1: The font in the String to Curves node has an input socket now, so it can be controlled by a modifier. #b3d #devfund

chart taken from the article about work that each AI system successfully completed. Ranged from 0.8% to 2.5%
Sharing this here since it involved a 3D modeling challenge..
washingtonpost.com/technology/i...
Just 2.5%?
It feels like it would be much higher than that considering the general hype - as well as power expenditure and natural resources involved. I suppose it could still get better? π€

Today, I learned about matrix multiplication in Blender.
These matrices contain info for location and rotation, and can be chained one after another.
Super useful with the new "Geometry Attribute" constrain, e.g. to make a camera follow an object, like in the screen recording

Much of the time mesh is too dense to simulate as a soft-body in Blender.
In those cases simply add a lattice and run the soft body sim on the lattice instead. Works especially well with the new "Lattice Deform Selected" option in #b3d 5.0
