I like the part where he aids+abets terrorism despite being a commissioned officer, and doesn't expect to answer charges for it. They're a federation world.

Considering what happened to him after he started doing that, I think the point was made.

It was a staple of daytime television on sci-fi for a lot of years. There is a reason it had ten seasons. But gotta keep in mind the first few were produced by Showtime so that kept it from a higher profile than Star Trek that aired on terrestrial (free) television.

Seems like they went above and beyond for Supes. Most of the Mego boxes I've seen are fairly plain by comparison.

Did any of the companies ever put your art on a box? There are so few licensed The Boys figures out there but seems like a no-brainer to attach official art.

And in another reality, maybe we'd all be thinking of Will Smith in The Matrix. Fortunately, it isn't our reality and people are happier with the way it worked out.

By the third season, I'm sure the producers were happy with the way Mulgrew worked out.

I try not to just because Mulgrew or not that was such a junk unwarranted show. We never needed to see his wife on-screen, let alone follow her solving mysteries for some reason. The value of the character was in _not_ existing but having this unseen influence over Columbo.

I guess that's how people think of Routh now days. I thought his impersonation of the Reeve Superman was pretty good.

I don't care what anyone says, I still stick up for Returns and I liked it.

That's the thing about the boxes, sometimes the graphic art is more identifiable than the toys, especially within a period. If you got to see these when they were on store shelves back in the 70s, it leaps out at you.

It's fairly self-explanatory once you get one open. Only snag was they glue the battery over the delicate ribbon cable so mine got torn, had to wait more days to order a replacement ribbon.

I did it some years ago for my Ipod Classic. You can get an internal SD adapter, and may as well replace the battery while it's open because that's a hassle.

Unfortunately, storage space limits are hardcoded in the firmware so cannot go crazy with 1 terabyte.

They also make bluetooth adapters.

You had to fill out a web form on their site to get it removed from your account. Yes, I did.

They had women villains too, Carolyn Jones was on the show! Morticia Addams herself. But they did need to tapdance around the issue that Batman's default setting is punching out the crooks.

I don't, it's why Nintendo handhelds have a battery life of an hour. I can put my PSP or Vita to sleep, come back weeks later and pick up right where I was with 80% or more battery. Put a Nintendo system to "sleep", come back an hour later and it's blinking the red light.

Maybe I'm used to seeing them in boxes, they seem so much more doll-like.

A lot of people now days complain about keeping toys boxed, but I think there's something to be said for including the graphic art in the display.

Well yeah, it's the equivalent of saying "fuck nazis" in a crowded room and seeing which guy takes personal offense.

Personally, I don't WRT. I just run a home firewall and it's on the other side of the router so I have Netgear's omni-present router spyware blocked too.

There is an open sourced replacement firmware for the thermostats called "No Longer Evil". Basically they're trying to make WRT for those devices. Haven't gotten around to trying it myself so I have not independently confirmed what it can do.

Conservatism is an unceasing train of moral compromises.

I remember when Republicans would have been appalled by Trump but his takeover of the GOP was fairly masterful. Even when he ceases being president, do we all remember that he now owns the party?

Can't say I'm a huge Superman fan, but I will have Corenswet whenever Inart finally materializes, and all the Mafex'es to date.

Is it Mego? I don't recognize the brand.

4 days ago 0 0 1 0

Back when I still held hope for the Mafex line, Fleischer Superman was on my most-wanted list. Would have loved to see him in top quality.

I forgot you had that Brando Jor-El. That's a cool one to have now days to prove you were collecting these from way back.

Until there's a generation no longer willing to pick up guns and kill+die in their name. Plan B for those madmen is always to fall back on the military to protect them from protests and accountability, it's why half of them live on bases and the rest are prepared to move to one.

That's why Alien is the most realistic sci-fi series. Space isn't a final frontier for space philosophers and there's no wonderous future in it, it's where The Company will send expendable space miners to retrieve resources and die. And AI was the villain.

Hmm, gotta wonder if Trump has been violating any US laws receiving that CPAC money from a foreign nation. Let's hurry up and do absolutely nothing about this.

4 days ago 2 0 0 0

Zero doubt they'll split those hairs: Trump's policies should still be employed to wage war against blue states and major cities, but Texas doesn't want it in _their_ back yard.

I can just hear Trump to his handlers: "why don't they just order McDonalds? They deliver it now days!"

6 days ago 10 0 1 0

I can't keep track of the long list, but that's been a significant number of them. Only when they're on their way out the door and have nothing to lose, they turn around and say "oh by the way we've been lying to you all along, Trump is a dictator and the country is in danger. Good luck!"

Nothing shocking about it. Only days prior the news reported that Patel had fired their Iranian counterintelligence team for partisan reasons: they also investigated Trump for breaking the law.

Because we all know how Donald Trump cares about protestors. When he isn't dropping planeloads of feces on them. Or trying to sic the national guard or ICE on them.
