Really glad I retrained in Cyber like they told me to all those years ago…

The 1926 Irish census with the record of Samuel Beckett’s family. Beckett is incorrectly recorded as a medical student.
Here I was looking up my own ancestors on the census like a fool, when I could have been looking up where young buck Sam Beckett was at.
The perfect post does not exs….
An orchestra and singers on stage with a pipe organ in the background…
Still thinking about Gerald Barry’s Salome from last night… absolutely extraordinary.
You can listen here (starts at 39 minutes and is about 70 minutes of your time):

Saw the scores when I woke up up this morning and thought that Ball, Knueppel, or Bridges must have gone out injured…
Then watched the highlights and na, just Banchero playing like the late 80s Pistons…
Amazing!
An album cover depicting an industrial scene with an old weathered pipe in the foreground, and a canal and tea factory in the background. There is a blue banner on top with the name Seán Clancy written in white, and the NMC logo also in white. Half way down the album cover is the text 'where the paths end' and just below that is the text plus minus ensemble

The great @billorcutt.bsky.social shredded the roof off of Bello Bar last night in Dublin. Great support from Cormorant Tree Oh also. What a really great night of music making. Everyone left in positive spirits. Fair play @enthusiasticeunuch.bsky.social for keeping an eye on our mental healths…
Music has the right to a future…

An ensemble onstage with a child’s music toy projected on screen.
An ensemble onstage, with Paul ‘big guns’ Scully projected above the stage running 3km live during his piece. Paul was trying to bring joyous elements of sport (rooting for someone, hoping they succeed) into music. For this piece he had to run 3km in under 10’30” to get to the concert hall before his piece finished. In my book that makes him a very fast runner. He is also a very good composer…
An excellent start (for me) to new Music Dublin. Amazing playing (and collaborating) from Nadar Ensemble. Exciting and thought-provoking pieces from Eveline Vervliet, Nina Fukuoka, Matthew Grouse, and Paul ‘big guns’ Scully, who ran 3km in 11 minutes during his piece. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Looking forward to seeing the great @billorcutt.bsky.social with the rest of the Dublin music freaks in the next couple of hours. 🎸 👑

Gonna see him tomorrow. Looking forward! Also, Ailbhe is a class act…
A picture of a library shelf with a small rolled up note on it. The note says “read this” in child’s handwriting.
A picture of the note unrolled. In the same child’s handwriting it reads “beware of the future!!”
Still thinking about this note I found in the children’s section of the public library when I worked there back in 2018. This kid tried to warn us…

it just took me 30 mins to get from Nassau Street to Lesson Street (via Merion Square) cause Kildare Street is closed and that’s with bus lane before 8am etc. probably way worse even now.
Genuinely don’t know how they’re going to manage the city during that time.
