i always wanted to be an astronaut growing up. even originally went to college for aerospace engineering (but changed majors when i found out that’s how you become a nerd on the ground not a nerd in space).
i still want to be an astronaut. always will.

what i really need to do is add more indy journalists to my list as well. so many smart folks doing great work in the public interest who deserve my (and your) dollars.
i’ve tried to put my money where my mouth is and subscribe to great local news outlets. i don’t want them to simply exist. i want them to thrive. i’m going to add more to my pile soon and i really hope others will, too.
i’d say they’re punching above their weight but that’s not true. the folks over there are heavyweights. it’s just that too many don’t realize it yet.
the @sfchronicle.com has, especially in recent years, produced a large number of really fucking good investigations and it’s quite impressive to watch them churn them out with such frequency

i’m really proud of the work i’ve been doing lately. it’s been fun to do and i just really love the breadth and depth of the work. but also, i’d love to get a little sleep.
