The UCP refuses to hear from ForeverCanada as Smith claims that the participants are unsure/unclear on what we want. The UCP has been clearing the hurdles for separatists + speaking on their behalf. Now, they're creating an environment of misinformation to confuse Albertans on the issue.

I guess this is part 2 of the plan?
Part 1 was to sell products at a loss to price out the competition, forcing bankruptcies & closures.
Now that there's very little competition, Amazon enacts part 2: dictate prices (price fixing) to a captive market.

They're complaining abt slow pipeline approval? It's not like these companies are throwing THEIR money in to build one. We haven't heard of private proponents for a pipeline project.
They keep cutting their workforce & blaming it on the Feds.
The level of entitlement is immature & embarrassing.

I'm starting to suspect the victim mentality in Alberta is learned behavior from these companies. They're behaving like social parasites.
They can't be optimistic abt profits when oil is at ~$100? Then maybe their business models aren't viable.

Industrial carbon price eroding Canada's competitive edge, oil and gas leaders say | CBC News Leaders in Canada's oil and gas sector say the industrial carbon levy would erode the country's competitive edge at a time when the world is clamouring for a reliable energy supply.

Canada's O&G sector gets a ton of taxpayer $$$ subsidy for pipelines, oil wells clean up, publicly funded R&D at universities & gov labs.
Now, they're trying to get out of paying the paltry industrial carbon tax?
I'm tired of the never ending whining from this sector.

Kate Spade Has A Novel Idea For Clutches | PurseBlog Well, the idea may be literally novel, but some people say it's not figuratively novel - we'll get to that in a minute. All I know is that the Kate Spade Book

An interesting article.

Kate Spade released novelty book clutches etc. over a decade ago & another designer is known for this theme. But yes, the context this time is very different.

VP - reminds the pope, who was previously prior general of the order of St. Augustine (THE saint known for "Just War Theory"), of the history of... Just War Theory.

The US VP is taking shameless ignorance to new heights.

Lol!
VP - a Catholic since 2019 cautions the pope, who earned a JCD, about... theology.
VP - who shamelessly lied abt Hatians eating cats & dogs, his "hillbilly" childhood, & ICE murdering two people in Minneapolis - lectures the pope... on truth.

But maybe it makes sense to someone from the Epstein class. They're used to victims of abuse being groomed & brainwashed into becoming abusers themselves.

Maybe with his twisted logic, he thinks other nations will respond by sending their navies to the strait. He probably thinks this will force them to support his war.
To me, that's like expecting a hostage to voluntarily work for their kidnappers.

He didn't have massive funding either. We had Frankensteined instruments & stuff held together by duck tape. But, the group probably had the healthiest dynamic I'd ever experienced.

In academia, students & others trying to re-enter the field are encouraged to volunteer in the labs.

One of the reasons I admire my MSc supervisor was his commitment to doing proper assessments & training. He paid everyone who worked in his lab - even those who wanted to volunteer.

I suspect this is how they dissiduaded him from using them. He doesn't care about anything else besides himself & how the US stock market responds to him.

Ugh! That last sentence is awkward.

I meant that the alliance was created to stand against what the US is doing now.

And with constantly using "speaking German" as a derogatory to bully NATO, they're insulting citizens of NATO countries.

NATO was created to protect members from the threats & actions of the current US administration.

Baffling!
Is this learned helplessness? Do most Albertans think - everything's screwed up, but they're powerless to do anything?

The mix of mythology & socio-political commentary in Babylon 5 was great. It used these giant, seemingly reductive themes to flesh out amazing characters & explore real-world issues.
If the spin-off came anywhere close to the original.... This feels like a big loss.

A first-hand look at how technology powered by bacteria is turning mine waste into critical minerals | CBC News A new research facility in Sudbury, Ont., is testing whether bacteria could help solve two major challenges in mining: How to source critical minerals and what to do with the waste left behind. CBC re...

This article explains such a complex process well.
As for the topic - it makes me hopeful that we won't be repeating the same mistakes we did with oil mining - as we move towards renewable energy.

Of The Empire
We will be known as a culture that feared death and adored power, that tried to vanquish insecurity for the few and cared little for the penury of the many. We will be known as a culture that taught and rewarded the amassing of things, that spoke little if at all about the quality of life for people (other people), for dogs, for rivers. All the world, in our eyes, they will say, was a commodity. And they will say that this structure was held together politically, which it was, and they will say also that our politics was no more than an apparatus to accommodate the feelings of the heart, and that the heart, in those days, was small, and hard, and full of meanness.

With the Alberta Government shepherding the separatists every step of the way, it's starting to look like the provincial government itself is invested in the success of the separatist referendum. This doesn't look like a - citizen initiative - anymore.

Indeed.
More landfills = often overseas, because we export our e-waste.
Landfills & mines =leach heavy metals, contaminating soil & water.
More mining = disturb ecosystems.

This also diverts resources away from renewable energy infrastructure.
