I thought the idea for the first story I had any success with had come out of nowhere - it was shortlisted for the Asham Award in 2008. Years later, I found the whole idea scribbled in an old notebook from 1990...
Not my usual style - not a sequin kinda person at all - but it was a fun project in a year I've had no energy to play at all.

A beautiful #Roman blue glass bowl, recovered during excavations in the city of Nijmegen (Netherlands). Not only is it a very lovely piece of glass, but it was actually found completely intact - not even a crack! - which is remarkable for a piece of 2000 year old glassware! AncientBlueSky

It was a slow burn, but it was creepy from the beginning. Maybe not quite a British Highsmith though, which was what persuaded me to read!
I read the Spider-Orchid first and loved it, but I too was disappointed with Uncle Paul.
