Pete DeBoer on Rantanen trade: "What perspective can I give you on it? It's not Luka Doncic but it's pretty close. And in the prime of his career, too ... Guys like that just don't get moved very often. And they sure don't get moved in the division."

Rantanen: "Like I said many times, I tried my best in Carolina. But one of the reasons for me to think where I really want to play hockey the next eight years. And Dallas was a better fit on the ice."

Rantanen on playing golf: "I do a little bit, in the summertime mostly. I haven't played during the season, but maybe I'll try nine holes at some point. Maybe not this year, but next year (smiles)."

Rantanen on joining Stars' locker room: "Tight group, for sure. I've noticed that. They get together a lot. They fit well together, which is always easy to come into as well. These guys are close, and yeah, just a lot of good players around me. That's pretty fun to be around."

Rantanen on if he ever thought he'd play for three teams in six weeks: "No, never, never, never. That was new for sure. I didn't expect it to happen. But it's the business side of it, which I've noticed now in the last six weeks. So, yeah, it's for sure different."

Rantanen: "With Colorado, what I always wanted was to stay there in the start, and then obviously I understand it's a business. They made a decision and then I was in Carolina. Tried my best there. And then I'm here now. And I'm so happy to be here, locked in for eight years."
