Good to know. I wasn't aware of it. Thank you. And I'm glad you feel this way about Yellow Star. I've crossed paths with Jennifer's sister, Julia.

An absolutely brilliant analogy.

Congratulations! Good thing it's not going to Boston.

This seems like a good statement under which to mention a novel I recently read and loved. Uncle Petros and Goldbach's Conjecture, by Apostolos Doxiadis (translated by him into English from the original Greek.) If you enjoy fiction, check it out. Probably easiest to find a used copy.

If that's how it works, maybe the next title should be I'M RICH!

It's amazing what creative gifts emerge during walks.

Lovely idea. You are one of the brighter and warmer lights in this time of darkness.

Writers -- here's a paying market that does high quality publications.

Readers -- here's a journal worth subscribing to.

This is an excellent and enjoyable article. I was unaware of the term "childlore" before now. This was an interesting discovery for me since I've used classic bits of childlore as the inspiration for a fair number of short stories. Having a labeled container in which to put things is enlightening.

Scrolling to 1954 took a while. Sigh...

I would not want to get a haircut from Weenie Todd.

I'd think a Schrodinger's illness would be either lethal or harmless, but nobody will know which it is until the test results are viewed. Either way, I hope you feel better soon. My wife was talking about the same "cold or allergies?" issue yesterday.

I read the series back in the 1960s. Freddy solved mysteries and wrote poetry. (I've been afraid to revisit it and ruin childhood memories.) The author, Walter Brooks, wrote for the New Yorker, among other places, and a short story of his inspired Mr. Ed.

A childhood favorite.

That's a cool observation. Unfortunately, cinnamon seems to have taken permanent residence in the category of whiskey flavors for kids who just started drinking and don't like whiskey.

I was there ages ago. It was a lot of fun. A friend, who lives in Tucker, took me here...

Thank you so much for those kind words.

Yikes -- just saw this! Thank you for those lovely words. I'm sort of retired at the moment. It's possible I'll write something new down the road. There's definitely a need for funny books written for young teens.

But I have a lot of great memories from all of those visit. (Along with many coffee cups, pencils, t-shirts, hats, and a really nice umbrella.) Here's wishing everyone safe travels and a parking space. (And a head start at the end of the day before the parents swarm the parking lot.)

It's my 6th year without a visit. ๐Ÿ˜€By choice. I decided to retire back in 2019, after 25 years on the road, and leave the joy and agony of the grind to younger writers. It was good timing since COVID would have cancelled any visits I might have booked for 2020.
