I’ve spent thirteen hours a day the last five days in this Palm Springs theatre building and designing for this world premiere play I’m directing! Couldn’t be happier.
And even got to feel a little butch hanging some lights 😜🎭

That sweet gay cowboy just out of his mind and having the best time alternating between screaming along and staring at in awe at Sabrina Carpenter is the absolute star of the Coachella livestream. 🤠🤣

I just love how much FUN she insists on having at all times.

It is very surreal to be like “well I’m going to the gym and meeting with designers on this new play I’m directing”…while waiting to see if he is escalating World War III tonight because he’s a moron with no guard rails and, gee, how fun to maybe see the end of modern civilization.
Or whatever.

Last night security came to check on us where I’m rehearsing this world premiere play in Palm Springs because “we had calls two women were possibly in danger” and I told my actresses that yes, they had finally gotten it big enough. 😜 I was so proud!

Is hilarious and dark and creepy and surprising and I’m getting to create a bunch of really theatrical things that are THRILLING to work on!!

I want to go just be at the theatre nightly to listen to the conversations outside after!

Just happily doent four hours waiting just to REGISTER to have a shot to see CÉLINE DION IN PARIS in the fall!!
(No idea how I’ll pay for it but a problem for another day!)

Truly grateful to Luke Evans (and Sam Pinkleton) for bringing bulge back to Broadway!

I loved last night’s Drag Race! Interesting designs, but even more, I loved the humor and fun of the work room and that the episode gave it that time. Genuine community, you see why they all end up sisters even if there’s drama in a season.
Just great queer community of people showcasing their art.

One of the most bonkers parts of arriving in Texas in the days before the primaries was seeing commercial after commercial of Republicans painting each other as “TOO TRANS FRIENDLY.”

Seriously. That was the accusation. Over and over.

Closed a world premiere play in Birmingham Sunday afternoon, jumped in the car and drove to Shreveport to get to Dallas yesterday for 12:45 walkthrough at the theatre where I’m directing the world premiere of Douglas Lyons’ new play PURE GLITTER!

It has been an absolute joy to build and create this new piece and Birmingham has been wonderful on all fronts!

There is a baby in the audience of this matinee of RENT, so it just hilariously seems like Mark and Roger have a new mom living below them.
I was really hoping the baby would hear its cue after Mimi’s “…when the Spanish baby’s cry-y-y-y…” but alas, apparently not a Spanish baby.

BEYOND irritating to have news orgs push out alerts spoiling Olympics results the vast majority of us can’t see until tonight.
UGHHHHHH.

I know the medals are so important of course, but I love so much watching and seeing the joy in the athletes for whom just being an Olympian - on the snow, ice, whatever - is their win.
