Thinking of how the 381 version of the Nicene Creed brought together the most enduring insights of the Arians (the Father and Son are distinct) and those affirming the full divinity of the Son.

It depends on the issue and the local community, I suppose--even though there are larger trends. Misusing the term "heresy" has been around a long time; as if disagreement about an ethical or gender norm constitutes heresy, rather than holding onto a partial truth and missing the paradoxical whole.

We had our MLK event today at our 100 year old COGIC church, with all those folks present—the mayor and sheriff are Catholic; mainline pastors came; laity from various religious backgrounds. Maybe a smaller community makes a difference to some extent
