Had a great time at the final Stamford, CT-hosted American Crossword Puzzle Tournament last weekend. 165th out of 803 is neither my best nor my worst. One careless mistake on puzzle 2 cost me 30 places, but I was otherwise perfect, with perhaps my best (always treacherous) puzzle 5 performance ever.

I’m old enough to remember when many of the exact same people who are skeptical of AOC were excoriating Zohran for his criticism of Susan Abulhawa. There’s plenty of misogyny on the left (as there is everywhere), but the idea that it can be proven through a comparison of Zohran & AOC is farcical.

Actually, adverbs are fine, and you probably shouldn’t take writing tips from someone who works at a recognized hate group.

Not great! And honestly the fragility is a bummer. We were legitimately good - probably a smidgen but not a ton better than City - for half an hour, but, once one we suffer one setback, we crumble.
