How important is it to have ICE on the streets of Minneapolis right now? A reminder that nearly *all* of the growth of ICE detention since October has come from people with no convictions and most of it comes from people with no criminal history at all.

By far the LARGEST growth in people arrested by ICE and thrown into detention centers across the country are from people with absolutely no criminal history on record. See the data below (and here: austinkocher.substack.com/p/breaking-i... ).

Mexican migrants struggle to reintegrate after being deported A study by UdeM’s Ana Canedo shows that coming from the U.S. is difficult for Mexican migrants: many face economic hardship and struggle with identity loss.

“Almost every #Mexican family has a relative who has migrated, yet Mexican society continues to marginalize returnees, sometimes even treating them with contempt," says @anacanedog.bsky.social. #migrants #U.S.-Mexico #border

Return migration isn’t as simple as “going home.” My latest article shows how returnees to Mexico face unequal and fragmented reintegration. Timely reading as mass deportations ramp up!
