Black and white dog with happy eyes and her tongue out.
Black and white dog wearing a colorful bandana with a chew toy in her mouth.
For 10 months, this adorable baby has been fighting thrombocytopenia. The chemo meds have caused some random hair loss, but things are finally looking up. She's even reunited with her favorite chewey! #puppylove #puppylife

We need to be able to see that the line "accommodations have gone too far" is an expression of the ableist notion that disabled students do not belong in higher ed. Its fundamentally an anxiety about the fact that disabled students get an "advantage" over abled students.

Censorship is so 1984. Supporting Libraries is so 2025. Read for your rights. Give for our libraries. American Library Association logo
The right to read belongs to all of us, but rights only survive when we defend them. ALA is standing with library workers, parents, and readers to push back against censorship. You can donate to support our work at ilovelibraries.org/1984.

I change my wallpaper with the seasons, sometimes a few time per season. I donât change ring tones anymore since I am typically on silent, but I still have a few people with their own ring tones because I havenât changed them in so long.

Opened Instagram this morning, and all the people they recommend I follow are way off base. RFK and a whole bunch of right-wingers.
On what planet does a disabled, autistic, immunocompromised woman want to follow RFK (or any of the rest of them)? Nope. I think Iâll hang out here from now on.

As you cancel streaming services, here is a casual reminder that only 16% of Americans read for pleasure anymore, and your local library has hundreds or thousands of books you haven't read.
They would love to see you stop by and renew your library card.

This is well worth the read. The hypocrisy no longer surprises me, but it does terrify me.

Nothing like RFK Jr's nonsense to make you feel awkward. Over the years, I have come to appreciate and celebrate my autistic-ness, and it really sucks to continually see headlines that imply that being like you is devastating or the worst thing that can happen to someone.
I think I'm pretty cool

There is more people being diagnosed autistic because more research about autism is available, there is more tests available than before and still becoming more accessible, people are realizing they've been undiagnosed for years, etc.

This should be the lead story in all major national news outlets. Public health people prefer to stay out of the limelight unless there is no other choice. I canât overstate how bad things have to be for 9 former CDC directors to band together and pen an op-ed in the NYT warning the entire country.

21-year-old woman in shorts and a tank top holding a baby by a tree.
My cousin just sent me this picture of me with four of my younger cousins when I was 21. This is the year I thought I was too heavy for a bikini. Proud to say I finally outgrew that self-hate and rocked my bikini when I took my son to the waterpark.

âIf youâre truly disabled why isnât your family taking care of you?â
First, thereâs no such thing as truly disabled or genuinely disabled.
Those are qualifiers designed to make you see disabled people are âfakersâ.
Not worthy of your support. Not sick enough.

Senate Republicans Put A Dangerous Gun Provision Into Their Tax Bill
Republican senators tucked language into the tax bill that passed the Senate today that makes it easier for people to get gun silencers and certain types of guns.
The Senate rules ref previously said no, so Republicans just reworded the provision and it's in there.
